<br />305 Wenger Street. Alonzo Johnson, owner, did not appear as requested. I 4
<br />Mr. Liszewski reported bids were received June 22, 1970, for demolition of
<br />the property; that Midwest Demolition Corporation was the low bidder at
<br />$587.00; that award of contract was postponed upon evidence the owner had
<br />commenced repairs to the property; that nothing further has been done and
<br />the property remains in a sub -standard condition.
<br />Mr. Liszewski was directed to contact the Midwest Demolition Company to
<br />ascertain if its bid of $587.00 for demolition of the structure at 305
<br />Wenger Street is still in effect.
<br />1608-1612 Prairie Avenue. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Sub -
<br />Standards Director was authorized to seek bids for the cleaning up of the
<br />premises at 1608-1612 Prairie Avenue.
<br />CONTRACT AWARDED - GILMER PARK TRUNK SEWER, DIVISIONS B AND C
<br />The motion was made by Lloyd S. Taylor, seconded by James A. Bickel, and
<br />unanimously carried, to accept the recommendation of Charles W. Cole.& Son,
<br />consulting engineers, to award contract for construction of the Gilmer Park
<br />trunk sewer, Divisions B and C, to Bradberry Brothers, Inc., on their low
<br />bid March 29, 1971, of $108,687.50.
<br />RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR CITY EMPLOYEES - TEAMSTERS LOCAL UNION NO. 364
<br />Proposed rules and regulations for City employees covered by the agreement
<br />between the City of South Bend and Teamsters Local Union No. 364 was
<br />referred to the Board members individually for study.
<br />IN KIND RENT VOUCHERS - A.C.T.I.O.N., INC.
<br />In kind rent vouchers for Fire Stations #5, #7 and #8 for the month of April,
<br />1971, were ordered filed.
<br />DEDICATION FILED - VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3264 - IRVING J. -SMITH
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the dedication
<br />to the City of South Bend, Indiana, by Melvin Cohn, Samuel New and Irving J.
<br />Smith, for the use of the public as a turning radius, the following described
<br />real estate:
<br />Beginning at the northeast corner of Lot 315 in part of
<br />Cottrell's First Addition to Lowell in the city of South Bend,
<br />Indiana; thence south 10 feet along the east line of said Lot 315;
<br />thence northwest to a point on the north line of said Lot 315
<br />which is 35 feet west of the place of beginning; thence east 35
<br />feet along the north line of said Lot 315 to the place of beginning,
<br />containing approximately 175 square feet.
<br />Also, starting at the northeast corner of Lot 315 in part of
<br />Cotrell's First Addition to Lowell in the City of South Bend,
<br />Indiana; thence due east 14 feet to the northwest corner of Lot 321
<br />in said Addition; thence south 10 feet along the west line of said
<br />Lot 321; thence west 14 feet to the east line of said Lot 315
<br />which point is 10 feet south of the northeast corner of said Lot 315;
<br />thence north 10 feet to the place of beginning, containing 140
<br />square feet.
<br />And the City Engineer was directed to prepare an assessment roll covering
<br />the assessment of benefits and award of damages to surrounding properties.
<br />WALK APPROVED - "SOUTH BEND-MISHAWAKA YOUNG WORLD DEVELOPMENT"
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the request of
<br />Miss Cindy Martin, as coordinator, and Mr. Charles Strantz, as route
<br />chairman, for the South Bend Mishawaka Young World Development, 17847 State
<br />Road 23, South Bend, Indiana, for permission to hold a "walk" on May 3,
<br />1971, of approximately 25 miles around the perimeter of the City, in
<br />conjunction with an "International walk" on that day by the American Freedom
<br />from Hunger Foundation, subject to coordination with the Police Department
<br />and Traffic Department.
