Monroe Street; thence south 89 degrees 38 minutes 42 seconds <br />west 97.49 feet along said boundary to the point of beginning <br />and containing 91,090 square feet or 2.091 acres, more or less. <br />The Clerk of the Board ' tendered proofs of publication in the South Bend <br />Tribune and the Tri County News on February 26 and March 5,.1971, which <br />were found to be sufficient. <br />No remonstrators having appeared and no written remonstrances having <br />been received, it was moved, seconded and unanimously carried that said <br />Resolution be hereby ratified and confirmed as adopted, and that said <br />streets and alleys be vacated. <br />The Cit,9sneer is directed to prepare an assessment roll covering the <br />assess/ofp"benefits and the award of damages to the surrounding properties. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board granted <br />permission for the Department of Redevelopment to demolish St. Joseph <br />Street from E. Monroe Street north to E. Western; Carroll Street from <br />E. Monroe north to E. Western, and all sidewalks and alleys within the <br />area described as the "post office site" and known as Vacation Resolution <br />No. 3337. <br />IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 3323 - HUMBOLDT STREET <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried the matter of the improvement of <br />Humboldt Street, from Elmer to Huey Street by constructing a Class C pave- <br />ment with curbs was further continued to April 5, 1971. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 3-8-71 ADOPTED FOR LOMBARDY DRIVE SIDEWALK <br />Upon motion 'made, seconded and unanimously carried, the following resolution <br />was adopted: <br />"RESOLUTION NO. 3-8-71 <br />"WHEREAS,' the Board'of Public Works and Safety finds that <br />a high number of school children must use Lombardy Drive be- <br />tween Ford Street and Washington Avenue due to the location <br />of Washington High School and Navarre School, and <br />WHEREAS, no sidewalk exists along portions of Lombardy <br />Drive forcing the students to walk in the public street, and <br />
