3/8/71 <br />Also, a part of the west Half of Section 12, Township 37 north, <br />Range 2 east, City of South Bend, St. Joseph County, Indiana, <br />described as follows: <br />Beginning on the north boundary of E. Monroe Street norty 89 <br />degrees 38 minutes 42 seconds east 1,020.50 feet from the <br />intersection of the east boundary of S. Michigan Street (U.S.R.#31) <br />and said north boundary; thence north 0 degrees 21 minutes 18 <br />seconds'west 194.58 feet; thence northwesterly 335.73 feet <br />along an arc to the left and having a radius of 341.97 feet <br />and subtended by a long chord having a bearing of north 28 degrees <br />28 minutes 47 seconds west and a length of 322.41 feet; thence <br />north 56 degrees 36 minutes 16 seconds west 123.03 feet; thence <br />south 56 degrees 45 minutes 30 seconds west 119.43 feet; thence <br />northeasterly 131.50 feet along an arc to the left and having a <br />radius of 424.47 feet and subtended by a long chord having a <br />bearing of north 46 degrees`29 minutes 46 seconds east and a <br />length of 130.98 feet; thence north 41 degrees 09 seconds east <br />91.19 feet; thence south 69 degrees 32 minutes 51 seconds east <br />80.00 feet; thence southeasterly 412.08 feet along an arc to <br />the right and.having a radius of 341.97 feet and subtended by a <br />long chord having a bearing of south 34 degrees 31 minutes 17 <br />seconds east and a length of 392.55 feet; thence south 0 degrees <br />30 minutes 18 seconds east 293.09 feet to the north boundary of <br />E. Monroe Street; thence south 89 degrees 38 minutes 42 seconds <br />west 97.49 feet along said boundary to the point of beginning <br />and containing 91,090 square feet or 2.091 acres, more or less. <br />The Clerk of the Board ' tendered proofs of publication in the South Bend <br />Tribune and the Tri County News on February 26 and March 5,.1971, which <br />were found to be sufficient. <br />No remonstrators having appeared and no written remonstrances having <br />been received, it was moved, seconded and unanimously carried that said <br />Resolution be hereby ratified and confirmed as adopted, and that said <br />streets and alleys be vacated. <br />The Cit,9sneer is directed to prepare an assessment roll covering the <br />assess/ofp"benefits and the award of damages to the surrounding properties. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board granted <br />permission for the Department of Redevelopment to demolish St. Joseph <br />Street from E. Monroe Street north to E. Western; Carroll Street from <br />E. Monroe north to E. Western, and all sidewalks and alleys within the <br />area described as the "post office site" and known as Vacation Resolution <br />No. 3337. <br />IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 3323 - HUMBOLDT STREET <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried the matter of the improvement of <br />Humboldt Street, from Elmer to Huey Street by constructing a Class C pave- <br />ment with curbs was further continued to April 5, 1971. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 3-8-71 ADOPTED FOR LOMBARDY DRIVE SIDEWALK <br />Upon motion 'made, seconded and unanimously carried, the following resolution <br />was adopted: <br />"RESOLUTION NO. 3-8-71 <br />"WHEREAS,' the Board'of Public Works and Safety finds that <br />a high number of school children must use Lombardy Drive be- <br />tween Ford Street and Washington Avenue due to the location <br />of Washington High School and Navarre School, and <br />WHEREAS, no sidewalk exists along portions of Lombardy <br />Drive forcing the students to walk in the public street, and <br />
