34 0, 3/8/71 WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works and Safety finds that the public safety is impaired due'to the lack of sidewalks, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that,pursuant to the Acts of the General Assembly of the State of Indiana (Acts1969, Ch. 317), the City Engineer is empowered to send notices to'the abutting property owners ordering them to -install sidewalks, and if the owners do not comply within the specified 30 days, the City EngineerIs ordered to cause the sidewalk to be constructed, and such cost . shall be assessed against the abutting property in accordance with the provisions of the Act. BRINKLEY COLLIER Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the request of Rev. Brinkley Collier, Assistant Pastor of Emanuel Church of Deliverance, 415°W. LaSalle Avenue, South Bend, Indiana to hold street services on Fridays at Chapin and Napier Streets and on Saturdays at Washington and Walnut Streets, between the hours of 5:00 and 6:00 P.M. from now until fall for so long as the weather permits. REQUEST OF MOHAWK FLUSH DOORS, INC. FOR SHERIDAN STREET TO BE PAVED Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the request of attorney Joseph A. Roper on behalf of Mohawk Flush Doors, Inc., 402 N. Sheridan Street, South Bend, Indiana, for the City to pave a portion of Sheridan Street north of Linden Street was referred to the Engineering Depart- ment for study and recommendation. PETITION FOR STREET LIGHT - CORBY AND CLEMENS Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the petition of Mrs. Clyde Lane, 1715 Corby Street, South Bend, Indiana, and 13 others for a street light at Corby and Clemens Streets was referred to the Traffic Engineer- ing Department for study and recommendation. 1
