3/8/71 <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT - SUB -STANDARDS D'iVISION <br />Richard Liszewski,' Sub -Standards Director, appeared before the Board and <br />the following matters were taken up. <br />Bids were opened for demolition of the structure at 1207 King Street. Non <br />collusion affidavits were found to be proper. The following bids were re- <br />ceived: <br />O'Neal Trucking Company $300.00 <br />Bryant Excavating Company $220.00 <br />Midwest Demolition Company $399.00 <br />Bill Torok $322.00 <br />The bid of Bryant Excavating Company was for an erroneous amount and upon <br />motion made, seconded and carried, was withdrawn. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, contract for demolition of the <br />structure at 1207 King Street was awarded to O'Neal Trucking Company on <br />its bid of $300.00. <br />ilv <br />Cl� 613-615 N. Hill Street, Nicholas Carlo appeared before the Board on be- <br />half of his brother Anastasio Carlo and stated that his brother will board <br />up the building. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the matter was <br />continued one week for the owner to appear before the Board. <br />2515 W. Grace Street. Leo Chmiel, son of the owner and stated he is look- <br />ing after the property for his mother; that it has been secured and that <br />he intends to tear the house down. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, <br />the matter of 2515 W. Grace Street was continued five weeks to permit the <br />owner to tear the structure down. <br />906 N. Stanfield. Frank Bilello did not appear as requested. The Sub -Standards <br />Director reported Mr. Bilello has now secured the building. Upon motion <br />made, seconded and carried, the matter was continued two weeks. <br />918 Marietta Street. The Sub -Standards Director reports Dorothy Woods <br />phoned him from Indianapolis she has no money with which to repair this <br />building, and stated in his opinion the house is beyond repair. Upon <br />motion made, seconded and carried, the Sub -Standards Director was authorized <br />to seek bids for demolition of the structure at 918 Marietta Street. <br />1225 N. Olive Street. William C. Bingham appeared before the Board on behalf <br />of Mrs. Mattie Stewart who lives in Indianapolis. He stated she intends <br />to rehabilitate the property. Uopn motion made, seconded and carried, the <br />matter was continued two weeks to permit the owner time to'close the <br />building. <br />737-739 W. Indiana Avenue. Joseph L. Wiley, son of Adam J.and Lucy Wiley <br />appeared before the Board and stated that his father is deceased and his <br />mother an invalid; that he intends to demolish the property. Upon motion <br />made, seconded and carried, the matter was continued four weeks to permit <br />the owner to demolish the property. <br />855 S. Clinton. Wallace A. Leatherman did not appear as requested. -Mr. <br />Liszewski reported the building is open. Upom motion made, seconded and <br />carried, the Sub -Standards Director was authorized to seek bids for <br />demolition of the structure at 855 S. Clinton Street. <br />227 E. Milton'Street. Orpha Showers did not appear as requested. Mr. <br />Liszewski reported Orpha Showers is in the County Home. Upon motion <br />made, seconded and carried, the Sub -Standards Director was authorized to <br />seek bids for demolition of the' structure at 227 E. Milton Street. <br />832 S. Marietta Street. The Clerk tendered the letter of S. G. Kovacs <br />of Sun City, Arizona requesting a 30 day continuance, which was read and <br />ordered filed. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the matter was <br />continued two weeks and the Sub -Standards Director was requested to write Mr. Kovacs <br />to have the property secured within that time. <br />
