2/22/71 bids opened J r removing debris and securing property at 1613 S. Leer Street Bids for removing debris from the interior and exterior of the property at 1603 S. Leer Street and securing the building were opened. Non collusion affi- davits were found to be proper and the bids were as follows: O'Neal Trucking Company $650.00 Bryant Excavating Company $290.00 Upon motion made, seconded and carried, contract for demoving the debris from the exterior and interior of the property at 1213 S. Leer Street and for closing the building was awarded to Bryant Excavating Company on its low bid of $290.00. The Sub -Standards Director was requested to contact the owner, Mrs. Lottie King, in reference thereto. Request for owners of sub -standard properties to appear before the Board March 8,1971 Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the request of the Sub -Standards Director for the following persons to appear before the Board on Marck 8, 1971, to show cause, if any they have, why the following properties should not be demolished, was granted: 918 Marietta Street - Dorothy T. Woods 832 Marietta Street - Elizabeth M. Kovacs 613-615 N. Hill Street - Anastasio Carlo 737-739 W. Indiana Avenue - Adam J. and Lucy Wiley 227 E. Milton Street- - Orpha Showers 906 N. Stanfield Street - Frank Bilello 855 S. Clinton Street - Wallace A. Leatherman 2515 W. Grace Street - Andrze J. and A. Chmiel 1225 N. Olive Street - Mattie E. Stewart 325 S. Taylor Street. Mr. Liszewski reported that this property is owned by St. Joseph County the as result of unpaid taxes; that the former owner still lives in the house; that it is in a hazardous condition; that contract for demolition was awarded December 28, 1970, pending relocation of the occupant; that the Sub -Standards Department has been unsuccessful in obtaining any commitment from the St. Joseph County Commissioners. It was moved, seconded and carried that the matter be referred to the Legal -Department for recommendation. HEARING ON ASSESSMENT ROLL - VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3333 - JEROME F. CLAEYS This being the date set, hearing was held on the assessment roll in Vacation Resolution No. 3333 for the vacation of: The first north -south alley west of Taylor Street, running north from South Street to the first east -west alley north of South Street. Also, the first east -west alley north of South Street running west from Taylor Street to 152.56 feet west of Taylor Street. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication in the South Bend Tribune and'the Tri County News on January 29, February 5 and February 12, 1971, which were read and found to be proper. No remonstrators having appeared and no written remonstrances having been received, upon motion made, seconded and carried, the assessment roll is hereby approved as presented and the resolution in all things ratified and confirmed, the proceedings closed and the property vacated. HEARING ON VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3334 - JOHN C. PERRY This being the date set, hearing was held on Vacation Resolution No. 3334 for the vacation of: The east -west alley between Dubai] Avenue and Calvert Street from the east right of way line of Grant Street to the west right of way line of the north -south alley between Dubai] and Calvert Street, and from the east right of way line of the said north -south alley to the west right of way line of Brookfield Street, situated In Whiteman's First Addition.
