2/22/71 <br />bids opened J r removing debris and securing property at 1613 S. Leer Street <br />Bids for removing debris from the interior and exterior of the property at <br />1603 S. Leer Street and securing the building were opened. Non collusion affi- <br />davits were found to be proper and the bids were as follows: <br />O'Neal Trucking Company $650.00 <br />Bryant Excavating Company $290.00 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, contract for demoving the debris <br />from the exterior and interior of the property at 1213 S. Leer Street and <br />for closing the building was awarded to Bryant Excavating Company on its low <br />bid of $290.00. The Sub -Standards Director was requested to contact the <br />owner, Mrs. Lottie King, in reference thereto. <br />Request for owners of sub -standard properties to appear before the Board <br />March 8,1971 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the request of the Sub -Standards <br />Director for the following persons to appear before the Board on Marck 8, <br />1971, to show cause, if any they have, why the following properties should not <br />be demolished, was granted: <br />918 Marietta Street - Dorothy T. Woods <br />832 Marietta Street - Elizabeth M. Kovacs <br />613-615 N. Hill Street - Anastasio Carlo <br />737-739 W. Indiana Avenue - Adam J. and Lucy Wiley <br />227 E. Milton Street- - Orpha Showers <br />906 N. Stanfield Street - Frank Bilello <br />855 S. Clinton Street - Wallace A. Leatherman <br />2515 W. Grace Street - Andrze J. and A. Chmiel <br />1225 N. Olive Street - Mattie E. Stewart <br />325 S. Taylor Street. Mr. Liszewski reported that this property is owned by <br />St. Joseph County the <br />as result of unpaid taxes; that the former owner still <br />lives in the house; that it is in a hazardous condition; that contract for <br />demolition was awarded December 28, 1970, pending relocation of the occupant; <br />that the Sub -Standards Department has been unsuccessful in obtaining any <br />commitment from the St. Joseph County Commissioners. It was moved, seconded <br />and carried that the matter be referred to the Legal -Department for recommendation. <br />HEARING ON ASSESSMENT ROLL - VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3333 - JEROME F. CLAEYS <br />This being the date set, hearing was held on the assessment roll in Vacation <br />Resolution No. 3333 for the vacation of: <br />The first north -south alley west of Taylor Street, running north <br />from South Street to the first east -west alley north of South Street. <br />Also, the first east -west alley north of South Street running west <br />from Taylor Street to 152.56 feet west of Taylor Street. <br />The Clerk tendered proofs of publication in the South Bend Tribune and'the <br />Tri County News on January 29, February 5 and February 12, 1971, which were <br />read and found to be proper. No remonstrators having appeared and no written <br />remonstrances having been received, upon motion made, seconded and carried, <br />the assessment roll is hereby approved as presented and the resolution in <br />all things ratified and confirmed, the proceedings closed and the property <br />vacated. <br />HEARING ON VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3334 - JOHN C.
