The bids were as follows: <br />Burk Communication Center, 915 Webster Street, Mishawaka, Indiana. <br />Non collusion affidavit was found to be proper. The bid was <br />accompanied by a bank money order in the amount of $2,600.00. (Bid <br />tabulated at page 308-B. <br />General Electric Company, 3750 N. Meridian Street, Indianapolis, <br />Indiana, 46208. Non collusion affidavit was found to be proper. (Bid <br />tabulated at page 308-B. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the bids were referred to the <br />Engineering Department for study and recommendation to the Board. <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT - RESIGNATION <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board accepted the resignation <br />of Larry R. Ernsberger from the South Bend Fire Department, effective as of <br />January 15, 1971, as recommended by the Fire Chief. <br />REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR TRUCK FOR FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the request of <br />Fire Chief Joseph L. Zurat to advertise for a step type van truck for the <br />Fire Department. February 8, 1971, was set as the date for receiving bids <br />and the Clerk of the Board was directed to give notice by publication in the <br />South Bend Tribune and the Tri County News on January 22 and January 29, 1971. <br />REQUEST TO ATTEND MEETING IN CLEVELAND, OHIO - POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the request of <br />Chief of Police Loren M. Bussert for Detective Sergeants Robert Bella and <br />Richard Chlebekz to attend a burglary investigation course January 26 to 28, <br />1971, at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. <br />APPOINTMENTS - POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the following <br />appointments to the South Behd Police Department, effective as of January <br />16, 1971, upon the recommendation of Chief of Police Loren 14. Klosowski <br />Larry Richard Ernsberger Michael Jay McGann <br />PROMOTION - POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the promotion of <br />Corporal Roland Greene to the rank of sergeant, effective as of January 16, <br />1971, upon the recommendation of Chief of Police Loren M. Bussert. <br />
