January 18, 1971 A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works and Safety convened at 9:30 A.M. on January 18, 1971. Present were S. J. Crumpacker, City Attorney, and James A. Bickel, City Controller, Mr. Bickel acted as chairman of the meeting. BIDS OPENED - MOTOR EQUIPMENT (GROUPS III TO XI) This being the.date set for receiving rebids for 1971 motor equipment as follows: Group III 17 - 4 door Sedans for Police Department Group IV 2 - 4 door Sedans for Waste Water Treatment Plant Group V 1 - 4 door Sedan for Human Relations Department Group VI 4 - 2 door or 4 door Sedans for Building Department Group VII 1 - 4 door Sedan for Sanitation Department Group VIII 3 - 4 door Sedans for Fire Department Group IX 1 - 4 door Sedan for Department of Redevelopment Group X 1 - 4 door Sedan for Park Department Group XI- 3 - 2 door or 4 door Sedans for Water Works r—i the Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri County News on January 8 and Januaryl5, 1971, which were found l� to be proper. The bids were as follows: Q Freeman Spicer Company, 520 S. Lafayette Boulevard, South Bend, Indiana. Non collusion affidavit was found to be proper. The bid was accompanied by a bid bond in the amount of 10% of the bid. (Bid tabulated at page 308-A. Gates Chevrolet Corporation, 333 W. Western Avenue, South Bend, Indiana. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the bids were referred to the Engineering Department for study and recommendation to the Board. OPEN BIDS FOR TWO-WAY RADIOS This being the date set for receiving bids for two-way radios for various Departments, as follows: #1— 3 - Two way FM single frequency standard squelch radios, complete with accessories for -Street Department. Trade-ins. #2. 1 - Radio (same description as #1). Engineering Department. No trade-ins. #3. None. A. 8 - Two-way FM single frequency dual squelch radios for Waste Water Treatment Plant. No trade-ins. #5. 4 - Radios (same description as #1) for Fire Department. Trade-ins. #6. 1 - Two-way FM single frequency dual squelch base station with remote control console for Street Department. No trade-in.
