<br />IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 3323 - HUMBOLDT STREET
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried: the matter of the
<br />improvement of Humboldt Street, from Elmer to Huey Street, by constructing
<br />a Class C pavement with curbs, was continued until January 4, 1971.
<br />CONTRACT SIGNED 36th STREET STORM SEWER AND LAGOON "K"
<br />Upon motibh f�Ada, seconded add UnAhiMbds'ly carried, the Board approved
<br />and executed contract with Woodruff and Sons, Inc., 2125 E. U. S. #12, P. 0.
<br />Box 315, Michigan City, Indiana, for the construction of Lagoon "K" and
<br />appurtenant sewers.
<br />CITY ENGINEER'S RECOMMENDATION
<br />ORDER TO CONSULTING ENGINEER FOR PRELIMINARY PLANS
<br />IMPROVEMENT - SEWER - E. FARNEMAN STREET
<br />In accordance with the recommendation of the City Engineer concerning the
<br />petition of E. P. Schulz for the extension of a sewer on East Farneman
<br />Street from its present termination eastward to the end of the street,
<br />�Q upon motion made seconded and carried, the Board now authorizes Clyde
<br />E. Williams and Associates, Inc., to prepare preliminary plans, estimates
<br />and preliminary improvement resolution.
<br />AREA PLAN COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION - PETITION TO VACATE ALLEYS - JEROME F.
<br />CLAEYS
<br />Area Plan Commission files with the Board its recommendation for the
<br />vacation of the first north -south alley west of Taylor Street, running
<br />north from South Street to the first east -west alley north of Stouth Street;
<br />also the first east -west alley north of South Street, running west from
<br />Taylor Street to 152.56 feet west of Taylor Street, upon the petition of
<br />Jerome F. Claeys. And the City Engineer is directed to prepare a vacation
<br />resolution.
<br />TAXICAB DRIVER'S LICENSE APPROVED - ROBERT LEON HENDERSON
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the application of Robert Leon
<br />Henderson for a taxicab driver's license was approved.
<br />IN -KIND RENT VOUCHERS - A.C.T.I.O.N., INC.
<br />In -kind rent vouchers for Fire Stations #5 and ##7 for the month of December,
<br />1970, in the amount of $283.34 each were ordered filed.
<br />COMPLAINT - CHARLES HOWELL
<br />Charles Howell, contractor, 1118 Duey Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, appeared
<br />before the Board in reference to blocking an alley or street with his trucks
<br />in the conduct of his business as being necessary and the objection of the
<br />Police Department. Mr. Howell was advised to contact the Traffic Engineering
<br />Department for a permit when it was found that such blocking would be necessary.
<br />COMPLAINT - ROGER LOGAN
<br />Roger Logan, 1416 E. Corby Street, South Bend, Indiana, appeared before the
<br />Board and complained of rats at his residence and in the neighborhood, of
<br />uncovered garbage and junk cars in yards near him.Upon motion made, seconded
<br />and carried, the matter was referred to the Engineering Department for
<br />appropriate action.
<br />REQUEST TO USE FIRE STATION #4 SOR MODEL CITIES ELECTION
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, permission was granted, with the
<br />approval of Fire Chief Joseph L. Zurat, for the Model Cities Program, 1002
<br />W. Thomas Street, South Bend, Indiana, through John Tidwell, Assistant
<br />Director, to use Fire Station ##4, 1210 Thomas Street, between the hours of
<br />1:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M., on December 13, 1970, for a Model Cities election.
