<br />REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR JANITORIAL SERVICES - MUNICIPAL
<br />SERVICES FACILITY AND MUNICIPAL -GARAGES NOS. 1 AND 2
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and -carried, the'Board approved the request of
<br />the Purchasing Director for permission to advertise for bids for janitorial
<br />services for Municipal Services Facility and Municipal Garages Nos. I and 2
<br />for the calendar year 1971. -December 14, 1970, was the date set for
<br />receiving bids, and the Clerk was directed to give notice by publication
<br />in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri County News on December 4 and December
<br />11, 1970.

<br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the request of
<br />theCity Engineer for permission to advertise for bids for'1971 truck equip-
<br />ment for various departments. December 21, 1970, was the date set for re-
<br />ceiving bids, and the Clerk was directed to give notice by publication in
<br />the South Bend Tribune and the TriCounty News on December 4 and December 11,
<br />1970.

<br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the request of
<br />the City Engineer for permission to advertise for bids for 1971 truck
<br />` equipment.. December 21, 1970, was the date set for receiving bids, and
<br />the Clerk was directed to give notice by publication in the South Bend
<br />Tribune and the Tri County News on December 4 and December 11, 1970.
<br />ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR SANITARY SEWER - AIRPORT INDUSTRIAL PARK, PHASE III
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Clerk of the Board was authorized
<br />to advertise for bids for the construction of a sanitary sewer in Airport
<br />Industrial Park, Phase III. December 28, 1970, was the date set for re-
<br />ceiving bids, and the Clerk was directed to give notice by publication in
<br />the South Bend Tribune and the Tri County News on December 4 and December
<br />11, 1970.
<br />ENGINEER !'RECOMMENDATION - IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 3323 - HUMBOLDT STREET
<br />For the improvement of Humboldt Street, from Elmer to Huey, by constructing
<br />a Class C pavement with curbs.
<br />Clyde E. Williams & Associates, Inc., consulting engineers, having examined
<br />the bids received November 23, 1970, for said improvement, finds that
<br />McIntyre and Jones Construction Company, Inc. has the lowest and best bid for
<br />Class C, Type I concrete and Rieth Riley Construction Company, Inc., has the
<br />lowest and best bid for Class C, Type III -A concrete, and recommends that
<br />Class C, Type I concrete be used.
<br />Upon motion made seconded and carried, action by the Board was postponed
<br />one week.
<br />AGREEMENT WITH INDIANA STATE HIGHWAY COMMISSION FOR RELOCATION OF STATE
<br />HIGHWAYS NOS. 31 and 33 AND SR2
<br />A proposed agreement between the Indiana State Highway Commission and the
<br />City of South Bend, by its Board of Public Works and Safety, for the re-
<br />location of U. S. Highways Nos. 31 and 33 and SR2 consistent with the City
<br />urban renewal plans was approved and executed by the Board and forwarded
<br />to the Indiana Highway Commission, 100 N. Senate Avenue, Indianapolis,
<br />Indiana, 46204 , for its approva'l'and execution.
<br />PETITION FOR SEWER - E. P. SCHULZ, 604E. FARNEMAN STREET
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the petition of E. P. Schulz,
<br />604 E. Farneman Street, South Bend, Indiana, for a sewer on E. Farneman
<br />Street, and the report of the St. Joseph County Health Department of
<br />unsanitary conditions because of septic tanks were referred'to the
<br />Engineering Department for study and recommendation.
