11/30/70 <br />702 E. Wenger Street. The Sub -Standards Director rep©rts the owner has ad- <br />vised she is unable to rehabilitate this property. Upon motion made, seconded and <br />unanimously carried, the Sub -Standards Director was authorized to seek bids for <br />the demolition of the structure at 702 E. Wenger Street. <br />530 E. Wenger Street. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the matter of <br />530 E. Wenger Street was further continued one week. <br />223 S. Chapin Street. The owner James N. Baker appeared before the Board. <br />Mr. Adamson reports the property is now closed. U pon motion made, seconded <br />and unanimously carried, the matter of 223 S. Chapin Street was continued <br />indefinitely and the Sub -Standards Director was requested to keep the property <br />under surveillance. <br />128L S. Laurel Street. Upon motion made seconded and carried, the matter of <br />1 S. Laurel Street was.further continued one week, <br />118 E. Paris Street. The Sub -Standards Director reported the owner is willing <br />for the City to demolish the structure. Upon motion made, seconded and <br />unanimously carried, the Sub -Standards Director was authorized to seek bids <br />for demolition of the structure at 118 E. Paris Street. <br />1606 Prairie Avenue, The Sub -Standards Director reported this structure has <br />been demolished by the owner. <br />Demolition bids: <br />This being the date set, bids for demolition,of the following structures were <br />opened. Non collusion affidavits were found to be proper. The bids were as <br />follows: <br />709 N. HI11 Street <br />O'Neal Trucking Co. $1,000.00 <br />John Vanek 636,00 <br />Bryant Excavating Co. 741,00 <br />Midwest Demolition Co. 864.00 <br />It was moved, seconded and unanimously carried that contract for demolition <br />of the structure at 709 N. Hill Street be awarded to John Vanek as the low <br />bidder on condition that he provide the City with a statement in writing that <br />the matter pertaining to the sidewalk at 412 Wilber Street!.will be satisfactorily <br />taken care of and that any money owed to the City for parking meter bags may <br />be deducted from.any payment due on the.contract. <br />133-135 E. Keasey <br />O'Neal Trucking Co. $ 899.00 <br />Midwest Demolition Co. 899.00 <br />Bryant Excavating Co. 741.00 <br />B & J Demolition Co, 735.00 <br />John Vanek 620.00 <br />It was moved, seconded and unanimously carried that contract for demolition of <br />the structure at 133-135 E. Keasey Street be awarded to John Vanek on his low <br />bid of $620.00, on condition that he provide the City with a statement in writing <br />that the matter pertaining to the sidewalk at 412 Wilber Street be satisfactorily <br />taken care of and that any money owed to the City for parking meter bags may be <br />deducted from any payment due on the contract. <br />Request for owners of sub -standard properties to appear before the Board 12/14/70 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved the re- <br />quest of the Sub -Standards Director for the following persons to appear before <br />the Board December 14, 1970, to show cause, if any they have, why the following <br />structures should not be demolished: <br />1613 <br />S. <br />Leer Street <br />- Lottie King <br />1316 <br />Hine Street <br />- Athonia and Bernice Belt <br />1230 <br />W. <br />Colfax Ave. <br />-, Henry and Berdella Blain <br />1631 <br />S. <br />Franklin <br />- Danilo Miskin <br />1312 <br />S. <br />St. Joseph <br />- Minion A. Stanton <br />1 <br />And the Clerk was directed to so notify said owners by certified mail. <br />
