51 11/23/70 1 POLICE DEPARTMENT - TRAFFIC REPORT FOR OCTOBER, WO Police Department traffic report for the month of October, 1970, was reviewed and ordered filed. REQUEST TO RIDE WITH POLICE PATROL Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, Chief of Police Loren M. Bussert was granted permission, at his discretion, to authorize Alan L. Waters of the University of South Dakota, to ride with Police patrol cars, upon the signing of a waiver of liability on the part of the City of South Bend. WEIGHTS & MEASURES DEPARTMENT - OCTOBER REPORT The monthly report for October, 1970, of Bert S. Cichowicz, City Sealer, was reviewed and ordered filed. BUILDING DEPARTMENT - SUB -STANDARDS DIVISION J. W. Adamson, Sub -Standards Director, appeared before the Board and the following matters were taken up; 133-135 E. Keasey Street. Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Sub -Standards Director was authorized to seek bids for demolition of the structure at 133-135 E. Keasey Street. 720 E— Wenger Street. Beverly Baskin (alias Beverly Ball) did not appear as requested. Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the matter pertaining to 720 E. Wenger Street was continued one week to permit the Sub - Standards Director to personally contact Beverly Baskin to determine what her intentions are in regard to this property. 530 E. Wenger Street. Neither Wayne W. nor,Glenna O'Dell Hilton appeared as requested. Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the matter of 530 E. Wenger Street was continued one week at the request of the Sub - Standards Director. 223 S. Chapin Street. James N. Baker appeared before the Board as, -.requested, and stated he intends to rehabilitate the property. Upon motion made,. seconded and unanimously carried, the matter pertaining to 223 S. Chapin Street was continued one week to permit the owner an opportunity to obtain bids for renovation of the property. 709 N. Hill Street. Edgar F. Schafer did not appear as requested. The Sub - Standards Director reported the owner has advised he does not intend to re- habilitate the property. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Sub - Standards Director was authorized to seek bids for demolition of the structure at 709 N. Hill Street. 2501 W. Linden Street. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the matter of 2501 W. Linden Street was continued two weeks. 1282 S. Laurel Street. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the matter of 12 z S. Laurel Street was continued one week. 2018 S. Michigan Street. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the matter of 2018 S. Michigan Street was continued two weeks. 1109 W. Colfax Avenue. The Sub -Standards Director reported the owner William F. Scott has obtained a permit for the rehabilitation of the property at 1109 W. Colfax Avenue, and the Clerk of the Board reported Mr. Scott has deposited $ 5.00 for the benefit of the low bidder, Midwest Demolition Company. Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the matter was continued indefinitely and the Sub -Standards Director was requested to keep the property under surveillance. 2116 Western Avenue. Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the matter of 2116 Western Avenue was continued two weeks at the request of the Sub -Standards Director.
