<br />attorney Mr. Rosen has as yet provided a letter from the contractor
<br />rescind-ing his contract for demolition of these premises as had been expected. Upom
<br />motion made, seconded and carried, the matter was continued one week.

<br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the request of
<br />the Sub -Standards Director for the following persons to appear before the
<br />Board on November 30, 1970, to show cause, if any they have, why the following

<br />REQUEST WITHDRAWN TO MOVE HOUSE FROM 2111 S. MIAMI TO 1021 E. ECKMAN
<br />Lewis Mitschelen appeared before the Board and stated.that under the circum-
<br />stances of the lot at 1021 E. Eckman having been sold to a resident of the
<br />neighborhood he wished to withdraw his application for a permit to move a
<br />house from 2111 S. Miami Street to 1021 E. Eckman, which request, upon motion
<br />made, seconded and unanimously carried, was granted by the Board.
<br />REQUEST TO ADVERTISE.FOR BIDS FOR 1971 MOTOR EQUIPMENT
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved the
<br />request of the City Engineer for permission to advertise for bids for 1971
<br />motor vehicles for the various Departments. ,December 14, 1970, was set as
<br />the time for receiving bids, and the Clerk was directed to give notice by
<br />publication in the South,Bend Tribune and the Tri County News on November 20,
<br />and November 27, 1970.

<br />John C. Perry, 1725 S. Brookfield, South Bend, Indiana, files with the Board
<br />a petition to vacate the east -west alley between W. Dubail and W. Calvert
<br />Streets, from Brookfield to Grant Street. Upon motion made, seconded and
<br />unanimously carried,_the petition is referred to the_City -Engineer and the
<br />Area Plan Commission simultaneously for study and recommendation to the Board.

<br />Marie J. Pfeil, 2221 Niles Avenue, Niles, Michigan, and Charles D. Hills,
<br />1307 Black Oak Drive, South Bend, Indiana,_file with the Board their petition
<br />to vacate the alley lying between lots 126 and 127 of the original plat of
<br />South Bend, Indiana, north of 516 N. Michigan Street, together with their check
<br />for costs in the amount of $65.00. Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously
<br />carried, the petition is referred to the City Engineer and to the Area Plan
