11/9/70 <br />1282 S. Laurel Street. Mr. Adamsohoreported the owner will demolish this <br />structure and the matter, upon motion made, seconded and carried, was con- <br />tinued one week. <br />423 S. Harris Street. Mr. Adamson reported he has received a letter from <br />Charles Hahn, owner, enclosing a deed to the property, and stated that the <br />building has been vandalized and stripped. Upon motion made, seconded and <br />carried, the Sub -Standards Director was, authorized to seek bids for <br />demolition of the structure at 423 S. Harris Street. <br />132 E. Elder Street. Mrs. Fisher, daughter of the owner, appeared before <br />the Board and stated she has been unable, to reach her attorney and asked a <br />continuance. It was moved, seconded .and carried that the matter pertaining <br />to 132 E. Elder Street be continued one week and that the bids already <br />received be held unopened until next Monday's session. <br />722 S. Rush Street. Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the <br />Sub -Standards Director was authorized to seek bids for demolition of the <br />structure at 722 S. Rush Street. <br />e-i 1212 S. Franklin Street.. Neither Anthony nor Goldie Lane appeared before <br />the Board as requested.. Mr. Adamson reported the house has been completely <br />gutted by fire. Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the <br />Sub -Standards Director was authorized to seek bids for demolition of the <br />structure at 1212 S. Franklin Street. <br />1210 South Bend.Avenue. Mr. Adamson reported the new owners have been <br />notified of the requirements to bring the building up to standard. Upon <br />motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the matter of 1210 South Bend <br />Avenue was continued indefinitely and. the Sub -Standards Director was requested <br />to keep the property under surveillance., <br />2116 Western. Upon the request of Mr. Adamson, the matter of 2116 Western <br />Avenue, upon motion made, seconded and carried, was continued two weeks. <br />118 E. Paris Street. Mr. Adamson reported that a certified notice to the <br />owner was returned "unclaimed." That the house has had a fire and is wide <br />open. That the owner has advised him that he intends to do nothing to the <br />property. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the matter of 118 E. <br />Paris Street was continued one week, and the Sub -Standards Director was re- <br />quested to attempt personal delivery of notice upon the owner. <br />2018 S. Michigan Street. Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, <br />the matter of 2618 S. Michigan Street was continued two weeks at the request <br />of the Sub -Standards Director. <br />Demolition bids opened. <br />This being the date set, bids were opened for demolition of the following <br />structures. Non collusion affidavits were -examined and found to be proper. The <br />bids were as follows: <br />2712 S. Main Street: <br />O'Neal Trucking Company $685.00 <br />Midwest Demolition Co. $529.00 <br />Upon motion made. seconded and unanimously carried, contract for demolition <br />of the structure at 2712 S. Main Street was awarded to Midwest Demolition Company <br />on its low bid of $529.00. <br />128 11. Harris Street: <br />O'Neal Trucking Company $618.00 <br />Midwest Demolition Co. $649.00 <br />B & J Demolition Co. $635.00 <br />Upon.motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, contract for demolition <br />of the structure at 128 E. Harris Street was awarded to O'Neal�Trucking Company <br />on its low bid of $618.00. <br />1109 W. Colfax.Avenue. Mrs. Scott, owner, appeared before the Board and stated <br />they have been o—u-t--oT town because of a death in the family; that the house is <br />vacant; and that they intend to rehabilitate it.
