11/2/70 <br />quest by the Fire Department for the transfer of $2000.00 from the general <br />fund to Account Q-262 (medical, surgical and dental), and the request was <br />referred to the Legal Department for the preparation of an ordinance for <br />the consideration of the common Council. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT - APPLICATION <br />The application of Richard Fredrick Wagnerowski for appointment to the <br />South Bend Police Department was filed with the Board and referred to the <br />Personnel Director -for further processing. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT - APPOINTMENTS <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously, and upon the recommendation of <br />Chief of Police Loren M. Bussert, the Board approved the appointment to the <br />South Bend Police Department, effective as of November 1,' 1970, of the' <br />following; <br />Shirley A. Woods <br />Norval J. Williams <br />e-i <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT - SUB -STANDARDS DIVISION <br />J. W. Adamson, Sub -Standards Director, appeared before the Board and the <br />following matters were taken up; <br />118 E. Paris Street. Louis Anderson did not appear as.requested. Upon motion <br />made, seconded and carried, the matter was continued one week. <br />128 E. Paris Street. Mr. Adamson reported the family living here has been <br />relocated; that the house is open; that the owner has advised he cannot <br />repair the place. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Sub -Standards <br />Director was authorized to seek bids for the demolition of the property at <br />128 E. Paris Street. <br />10124014 E. Western. Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the <br />Sub -Standards Director was authorized to seek bids for the demolition of <br />the structures at 1012-1014 E. Western. <br />1109 W. Colfax Avenue. Mr. Adamson reported the building is'open and has <br />been posted as unfit for human habitation. Upon motion made, seconded and <br />carried, the Sub -Standards Director was authorized to seek bids for the <br />demolition of the structure at 1109 W. Colfax Avenue. <br />2712 S. Main. Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Sub - <br />Standards Director was authorized to seek bids for demolition of the structure <br />at 2712 S. Main Street. <br />1137 S. Lafayette. Mr. Adamson reported nothing has been heard from the <br />attorney representing the owner; that the structure has been fire bombed. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Sub -Standards Director <br />was authorized to seek bids for the demolition of the structure at 1137 S. <br />Lafayette Street. <br />132 E. Elder. Mr. Adamson reported the house has been gutted by fire and is <br />open. Upon ;motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Sub -Standards <br />Director was authorized to seek bids for demolition of the structure at 132 <br />E. Elder Street. Mr. Adamson was requested to obtain pictures of the inside <br />and outside of the structure. <br />2018 S. Michi an. Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the <br />matter of 2018 S. Michigan was continued one week. <br />1022 S. 35th Street. Mr. Adamson reported the garage has.been torn down but <br />not removed and that there is still debris in the yard. Upon motion made, <br />seconded and unanimously carried, the Sub -Standards Director was authorized <br />to seek bids for completion offthe demolition of the garage and the removal <br />of related debris of the property at 1022 S. 35th Street. <br />
