Paris Street. <br />Midwest Demolition Co. $629.00 <br />B & J Demolition Co. $495.00 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, contract for demolition <br />of.the structure at 121 E. Paris Street was awarded to B & J Demolition Com- <br />pany on its low bid of $495.00. <br />Request for sub -standard property owners to appear before the Board 11/9/70 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved the <br />request of the Sub -Standards Director for the following persons to appear <br />before the Board on November 9, 1970, to show cause, if any they have, why <br />the structures at the following addresses should not be demolished. <br />1282 S. Franklin St. - Anthony and Goldiq Lane <br />Q <br />MUNICIPAL PARKING GARAGES - REQUEST TO REMAIN OPEN ON SUNDAYS (NOV DEC.) <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved <br />the request of James McNeile, Manager, for the Municipal Parking Garages <br />at Jefferson and St. Joseph Streets and at Main and Colfax Avenue to remain <br />open on Sundays from 12:00 noon until 6:00 P.M. from November 8, 1970 <br />through December 20, 1970, during which time the downtown stores will remain <br />open. <br />SEWER CONSTRUCTION AGREEMENT - CLYDE E. WILLIAMS & ASSOCIATES INC. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved and executed a <br />contract by the City of South Bend, Indiana, acting through its Board of <br />Public Works and Safety, with Clyde E. Williams & Associates, Inc., Engineers, <br />for the construction of an extension of the 24" sanitary sewer currently <br />terminated at Maple Road, to the property of City Pattern and Foundry <br />Company on the north side of Douglas Road, in the Airport Industrial Park <br />(Phase I11), subject to the availability of appropriate funds. <br />PROTEST AGAINST REMOVING BOULEVARD LIGHTS - NAVARRE STREET AREA <br />Mrs. Leonard Pajula, 325 W. Navarre Street, South Bend, Indiana, appeared <br />before the Board and filed a protest signed by 84 persons against the removal <br />of the boulevard lights in the area bounded by Lafayette, Forest Avenue, <br />Riverside Drive and Navarre Street. The City Engineer explained the <br />difficulty of the Indiana and Michigan Electric Company in maintaining <br />the older boulevard lights but will make further investigation in reference <br />to any change. <br />COMPLAINT OF LACK OF SIDEWALK ON _IRONWOOD - MRS. HELEN HEISLER <br />Mrs. Helen Heisler, 725 N. Ironwood, South Bend, Indiana, appeared before <br />the Board and complained of the lack of a sidewalk in front of her home and <br />for a distance of approximately 3/10 of a mile and the necessity of walking <br />in the street because of shrubbery growing all the way to the curb. Mrs. <br />Heisler asked how a.sidewalk could be obtained and was informed by the Board <br />that it could be constructed under an assessment program or if all the <br />property owners were agreeable they could themselves construct a sidewalk. <br />REQUEST TO MOVE HOUSE FROM 2111 S. MIAMI TO 1021 E. ECKMAN <br />Forrest R. West, Building Commissioner, presented to the Board the request <br />of Lewis Mitschelen, who was also present at the meeting, for permission to <br />move a two story frame house and garage from 2111 S. Miami Street to 1021 E. <br />Eckman Street, and reported that qualifications for moving the structure <br />had been complied with and that it meets the zoning requirements. <br />
