2oP5I <br />10/5/70 <br />FINAL CONFIRMATION OF IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 3324 - OLIVE STREET <br />SIDEWALK REPAIR <br />For the improvement of Olive Street, from the first lot south of Ford Street <br />to Western Avenue, by repairing concrete curb and sidewalk. <br />No written remonstrances equalling 51% or more of the resident property <br />owners on said street to be improved having been filed within 10 days <br />after the hearing on said Improvement Resolution No. 3324, 1970, <br />adopted August 17, 1970 and confirmed on September 8, 1970, said Resolution <br />is in all things finally confirmed and the improvement hereby ordered made. <br />CITY ENGINEER'S RECOMMENDATION <br />ORDER FOR PRELIMINARY PLANS <br />PRELIMINARY PLANS FILED <br />PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS APPROVED <br />IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 3,330, 1970 ADOPTED <br />NOTICE TO PROPERTY OWNERS <br />ALLEYS BE-114EEN HUEY AND O' BR IEN STREETS <br />A petition having been filed with the Board August 3, 1970, by Pete Smith, <br />r-4 1226 N. Huey Street, South Bend, Indiana, and 13 others for the improvement <br />00 of the north -south alley between Huey and O'Brien Streets, from Humboldt <br />Street to the tee end, under Improvement Resolution No. 3325, and a petition <br />having been filed September 28, 1970, by Richard Jelinski, 2118 W. Elwood <br />Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, and seven others for the improvement of the <br />east -west alley between Humboldt and Elwood Streets from Huey to O'Brien <br />Street, Improvement Resolution No. 3325 was on September 28, 1970, rescinded <br />for the purpose of Improving the two alleys under one project. <br />City Engineer Lloyd S. Taylor files with the Board his recommendation for <br />the improvement of the alleys between Huey and O'Brien Streets, from Humboldt <br />north to the tee and from Huey Street east to O'Brien Street, between Humboldt <br />Street and Elwood Street, by constructing a Class C, Type 1 concrete pavement. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approves the <br />recommendation of the City Engineer and directs Clyde E. Williams and <br />Associates, Inc., consulting engineers, to prepare preliminary plans, estimates <br />and improvement resolution for such improvement. <br />Clyde E. Williams & Associates, Inc., files with the Board preliminary plans <br />and specifications, estimate of the total cost of such improvement at <br />$12,897.50 and improvement resolution. <br />Upon motion made seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approves the <br />plans and specifications for such improvement and adopts Improvement Resolution <br />No. 3330, 1970, for the improvement of the alley between Huey and O'Brien Street <br />from Humboldt Street north to the tee and the east -west alley from Huey <br />Street to O'Brien Street, between Humboldt and Elwood Street, by constructing <br />a Class C, Type I concrete pavement. <br />October 27, 1970, at 7:30 P.M., local time, in Room 1308 County City Building, <br />South Bend, Indiana, is set as the time and place for hearing all persons <br />whose property may be affected by such proposed improvement and at which time <br />the Board will decide whether the benefits accruing to abutting and adjacent <br />property will be equal to or exceed the estimated cost of said improvement. <br />And the Clerk is directed to give notice of such hearing by publication in <br />the South Bend Tribune and the Tri County News on October 9 and October 16, <br />1970. <br />TRAFFIC ENGINEERING - REQUEST TRANSFER OF $2500.00 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved the <br />request of the Traffic Engineering Department for the transfer of $2500.00 <br />from the General Fund to Account T-726 (other equipment), and the request <br />was referred to the Legal Department for the preparation of an ordinance for <br />the consideration of the Common Council. <br />
