9/8/70 <br />It was further moved, seconded and carried that the assessments against the <br />property owners"on the assessment roll adopted August 17, 1970 be approved <br />subject to the increase in the City assessment due to the additional sewer <br />in Walters Street. <br />HEARING ON ASSESSMENT ROLL - IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. .3294 - ALLEY IN <br />200 BLOCK OF NOTRE DAME AVENUE <br />This being the date set, hearing was held on the assessment roll in Improvement <br />Resolution No. 3294, 1969, being for the improvement of the alley in the 200 <br />block of Notre Dame North, between Notre Dame Avenue and St. Peter Streets. <br />The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune <br />and the Tri County News on August 21 and August 28, 1970, which were read <br />and found to be sufficient. <br />No remonstrators having appeared, upon motion made, seconded and unanimously <br />carried the assessment roll adopted August 17, 1970, was in all things con- <br />firmed. <br />r_4 HEARING ON IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 3321 - BEALE STREET SEWER <br />90 CONTINUED FROM /2 /70 <br />Having been continued from August 24, 1970, hearing was resumed on Improvement <br />Resolution No. 3321, being for the improvement of Beale Street, from Cushing <br />Street to Riverside Drive by constructing a local sewer. <br />Mrs. Janet Allen, Councilwoman at large, attended the meeting and inquired <br />the status of the sewer installation. <br />Mr. James A. Bickel reported a realtor had been contacted ins -reference to <br />making an appraisal of properties but no report has been received. <br />After further considering the matter, the motion was made, seconded and carried <br />that the full benefit to each'property owner be reduced by $10.00 and that the <br />portion borne by the City of South Bend be increased by $10.00 for each property <br />owner. <br />Thereupon, the motion was made, seconded and carried to confirm Improvement <br />Resolution No. 3321, adopted July 20, 1970, as amended, and the said improve- <br />ment is hereby ordered made. <br />AREA PLAN RECOMMENDATION - MIDWEST TURNKEY BUILDERS, INC. (FRANCES STREET) <br />Area Plan Commission reports the following action taken on the petition of Midwest <br />Turnkey Builders, Inc.,`for the vacation of a portion of Frances Street, <br />from Miner Street north to the alley: <br />"After due consideration, Mr. Reinke made a motion that <br />this street vacation be recommended to the Board of <br />Works unfavorably. There was no second to the motion <br />so it was withdrawn by Mr. Reinke. <br />"Mr. Rothermel moved, seconded by Mr. Woods, that this <br />street vacation be recommended favorably subject to a <br />14 foot alley easement. Motion carried." <br />ADOPTION OF VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3329, 1970 - MIDWEST TURNKEY BUI <br />INC. (FRANCES STREET <br />Upon motion made, seconded and=carried, the following resolution was <br />adopted: <br />"VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3329, 1970 <br />RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF <br />THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, That it is desirable to <br />vacate the following: <br />Frances Street from the north line of Miner Street <br />extending north 105 feet to the south right of way <br />line of a 12 foot alley as shown on the recorded <br />plat of Lederer and Longley's Subdivision of Out <br />S <br />
