8/3/70 <br />1217 South Bend Avenue. Samuel Johnson, owner, appeared before the Board and <br />stated he is willing for the City to tear down the house. Upon motion made, <br />seconded and carried, the Sub -Standards Director was given authority to ad- <br />vertise for bids for demolition of the structure at 1217 South Bend Avenue. <br />Demolition bids opened: <br />This being the date set, bids were opened for demolition of the following <br />structures. Non collusion affidavits were examined and found to be proper. <br />The bids were as follows: <br />a <br />655-657 Lawndale: <br />O'Neal>Trucking Company $933.00 <br />No other bids having been received, and the bid of O'Neal Trucking Company <br />appearing to be reasonable, upon motion made, seconded and carried, contract <br />for demolition of the structure at 655-657 Lawndale was awarded to O'Neal Trucking <br />Company on its bid of $933.00. <br />1608l Prairie Avenue: <br />O'Neal Trucking Company $549.00 <br />No other bids having been received, and the bid of O'Neal Trucking Company <br />appearing to be reasonable, upon motion made, seconded and carried, contract <br />for demolition of the structure at 1608'—z Prairie Avenue was awarded to O'Neal <br />Trucking Company on its bid of $549.00. <br />POTAWATOMIE PARK DISPLAY BARN <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the matter of awarding contract for <br />the construction of a display barn in Potawatomi Park was further continued <br />four weeks. <br />HEARING ON ASSESSMENT ROLL - VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 33o8 - DONALD F. HICKEY <br />This being the date set, hearing was held on the assessment roll in Vacation <br />Resolution No. 3308, for the north -south alley lying between Lots 2 and.4 in <br />Chapin's Subdivision of Bank Out Lot 182 and running south from the south <br />line of Lincolnway West to the southeast corner of Lot 2 and. the southwest <br />corner of Lot 4 in Chapin's Subdivision. <br />The Clerk tendered proofs of publication.in the South Bend Tribune and the <br />Tri County News on July 10, July 17 and July 24, 1970, which were read and <br />found to be proper. <br />No'remonstrators having appeared and no written remonstrances having been re- <br />ceived, upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved said assess- <br />ment roll as adopted and ratifies and confirms said vacation resolution in all <br />things and declares these proceedings closed and the alley vacated. <br />VACATION RESOLUTION N0: 33225, 1970 ADOPTED - UNIVERSITY OF NOTRE DAME AND <br />STANLEY PIETZAK <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the following Resolution was adopted: <br />"VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3322, 1970 <br />RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, that it is desirable to vacate the <br />following: <br />a portion of Ivy Road running north from the north <br />right of way line of South Bend Avenue to the south <br />right of way line of Edison Road. <br />Reserving the rights and easements of all utilities and <br />the municipal city of South Bend, Indiana, to construct and main- <br />tain any facilities, including, but not limited to, the following: <br />electric, telephone, gas, water, sewer, surface water control <br />structures and ditches, within the vacated right of way, unless such <br />rights are released by the individual utilities. <br />
