rp� <br />'12 '. <br />7/13/70 <br />POTAWATOMI PARK DISPLAY BARN <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the matter of awarding contract <br />for construction of a display barn for Potawatomi Park was further <br />continued one week. <br />IN -KIND RENT VOUCHERS for Fire Stations #5 and #7 by ACTION, Inc. <br />were filed with the Board. <br />LEASE WITH ACTION, Inc. for the lease of Fire Station #8 was signed <br />by the Board. Rent of $8,d4 02 .96 for period from May 4, 1970 to and <br />including May 3, 1971 will be payable as in -kind credit to the City <br />of South Bend. <br />PETITION TO VACATE ALLEY - Dr. Armand J. Rigaux <br />petition to vacate North and South alley from Angela Boulevard south <br />126 feet,(said alley being between Penn Central Spur Line and Otsego <br />StreetJwas filed`with�the Board and referred to the Engineering Dept. <br />and Area Plan Commission for study and recommendation. <br />REQUEST TO HOLD STREET DANCE - Hawthorne Drive <br />On motion made, seconded and carried permission was granted to hold <br />a street dance on July 24 , '197 0 .f rom 7 : 00 to 11: 3 0 PM on Hawthorne <br />Drive (area from 209 to; 234) provided that signatures of area residents <br />are obtained and proper insurance provided to hold the City harmless. <br />REQUEST TO HOLD PARADE - Studebaker Driver's Club <br />IT was moved, seconded and carried that permission be granted to <br />hold a parade on August 8, 1970 starting at 12:00 noon approximately. <br />This permission is granted insofar as it pertains to the City and <br />subject to the approval of the City Attorney. <br />REQUEST TO BLOCK RUPEL STREET - Veterans of Foreign Wars <br />On motion made, seconded and carried permission was granted to block <br />Rupel Street (1/2 of the 1900 block) starting at 12 noon until sunset, <br />for the purpose of holding annual picnic. <br />REQUEST TO BLOCK NORTH GORDON DRIVE - Mrs. Erich Wurzburger <br />It was moved, seconded and carried that permission be granted to close <br />North Gordon Drive from Gordon Circle to Rose Street on Saturday, <br />August 8, 1970`from 3:00 to 12:00 PM,for the purpose of holding a <br />block party. This permission is granted subject to posting of <br />insurance certificate to hold the city harmless. <br />APPLICATION OF COURTESY CAB ASSOCIATION <br />Mr. Tutorow appeared and explained that application for Certificate <br />of Public Convenience covered the addition of three new cabs. On <br />motion made, seconded and carried the application was referred to <br />the Controller for review and recommendation. <br />NOTICE OF INCREASE IN PARKING RATES - Shannon Continental Corp. <br />from daily fee of 50� to 75� was filed with the Board. <br />REQUEST TO CANCEL CONTRACTOR'S BOND of William C. Blankenship was <br />approved for any work done after July 15, 1970. <br />CONTINUATION CERTIFICATE - Charles Berta <br />It was moved, seconded and carried to approve certificate continuing <br />contractor's bond to July 11, 1971. <br />
