6/22/70 <br />305 Wenger. Alonzo Johnson, owner, appeared before the Board and requested <br />more time in which to rehabilitate the property. Mr. Johnson was informed <br />that due to his lack of attention over a period of time, bids for demolition <br />of the property have been received for opening this date, and that a deposit <br />of $25.00 must now be deposited by him for the benefit of the low bidder <br />in the event contract is not awarded for demolition of the property. Bids <br />were then opened. Non collusion affidavits were found to be proper. The <br />bids were as follows: <br />B & J Demolition Company $850.00 <br />Midwest Demolition Company $587.00 <br />O'Neal Trucking Company $629.00 <br />Vanek Excavating Company $600.00 <br />It was moved, seconded and carried, that award of contract for demolition <br />of the structure at 305 Wenger Street be held in abeyance one week, on con- <br />dition that the owner pay$25.00 to this Board for the use of the low bidder; <br />that the house be closed up; that the garage doors be removed; and that all <br />debris be cleaned from the premises. A deposit was then made by Alonzo <br />Johnson to the Clerk of the Board. <br />Demolition bids opened: <br />This being the date set, bids were opened for demolition of the following <br />properties. Non collusion affidavits were examined and found to be proper. <br />The bids were as follo,vrs: <br />132 E. Paris: <br />John Vanek $600.00 <br />Midwest Demolition Co. $867.00 <br />Julius O'Neal $749.00 <br />B & J Demolition Co. $900.00 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, contract for demolition <br />of the premises at 132 E. Paris Street was awarded to John Vanek as the low <br />bidder at $600.00, on condition that he complete -.a previous contract for <br />demolition of 735 W. Jefferson, a sidewalk repair job at 418 S. Wilber, and <br />pay all monies due the City for hooding a meter, within one week; otherwise, <br />contract to be awarded to the next low bidder. <br />2227 W. Smith Street: <br />John Vanek $400.00 <br />Midwest Demolition Co. $389.00 <br />O'Neal Trucking Co. $485.00 <br />B & J Demolition Co. $500.00 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, contract for demolition <br />of the premises at 2227 W. Smith Street was awarded to Midwest Demolition <br />Company on its low bid of $389.00. <br />1110 N. Hill Street: <br />John Vanek $400.00 <br />O'Neal Trucking Co. $500.00 <br />Midwest Demolition Co. $349.00 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, contract for demolition <br />of the premises at 1110 N. Hill Street was awarded to Midwest Demolition Company <br />on its low bid of $349.00. <br />1237 Van Buren Street: <br />Midwest Demolition Company $629.00 <br />John Vanek $600.00 <br />Julius O'Neal $519.00 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, contract for demolition of <br />the premises at 1237 Van Buren Street was awarded to Julius O'Neal on his low <br />bid of $519.00. <br />
