6/22/70 305 Wenger. Alonzo Johnson, owner, appeared before the Board and requested more time in which to rehabilitate the property. Mr. Johnson was informed that due to his lack of attention over a period of time, bids for demolition of the property have been received for opening this date, and that a deposit of $25.00 must now be deposited by him for the benefit of the low bidder in the event contract is not awarded for demolition of the property. Bids were then opened. Non collusion affidavits were found to be proper. The bids were as follows: B & J Demolition Company $850.00 Midwest Demolition Company $587.00 O'Neal Trucking Company $629.00 Vanek Excavating Company $600.00 It was moved, seconded and carried, that award of contract for demolition of the structure at 305 Wenger Street be held in abeyance one week, on con- dition that the owner pay$25.00 to this Board for the use of the low bidder; that the house be closed up; that the garage doors be removed; and that all debris be cleaned from the premises. A deposit was then made by Alonzo Johnson to the Clerk of the Board. Demolition bids opened: This being the date set, bids were opened for demolition of the following properties. Non collusion affidavits were examined and found to be proper. The bids were as follo,vrs: 132 E. Paris: John Vanek $600.00 Midwest Demolition Co. $867.00 Julius O'Neal $749.00 B & J Demolition Co. $900.00 Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, contract for demolition of the premises at 132 E. Paris Street was awarded to John Vanek as the low bidder at $600.00, on condition that he complete -.a previous contract for demolition of 735 W. Jefferson, a sidewalk repair job at 418 S. Wilber, and pay all monies due the City for hooding a meter, within one week; otherwise, contract to be awarded to the next low bidder. 2227 W. Smith Street: John Vanek $400.00 Midwest Demolition Co. $389.00 O'Neal Trucking Co. $485.00 B & J Demolition Co. $500.00 Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, contract for demolition of the premises at 2227 W. Smith Street was awarded to Midwest Demolition Company on its low bid of $389.00. 1110 N. Hill Street: John Vanek $400.00 O'Neal Trucking Co. $500.00 Midwest Demolition Co. $349.00 Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, contract for demolition of the premises at 1110 N. Hill Street was awarded to Midwest Demolition Company on its low bid of $349.00. 1237 Van Buren Street: Midwest Demolition Company $629.00 John Vanek $600.00 Julius O'Neal $519.00 Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, contract for demolition of the premises at 1237 Van Buren Street was awarded to Julius O'Neal on his low bid of $519.00.
