Mrs. Zakarowski's attorney requested of Mr. Adamson a con- <br />tinuance of one week because of the illness of Mrs. Zakarowski, which, upon <br />motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, was granted. <br />4035 S. Michigan Street. Mr. Adamson reported this property sold and being <br />rehabilitated. Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the matter <br />was continued indefinitely, and the Sub -Standards Director was requested to <br />keep the property under surveillance. <br />1016 W. Washington Street. Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, <br />the Sub -Standards Director was authorized to seek bids for demolition of -the <br />premises at 1016 W. Washington Avenue. <br />1624 Catalpa Street. Mr. Adamson reported this matter has been investigated; <br />that he met with the owners and viewed the property; that the house is sound, <br />and that the owners will remove the accessory building. Upon motion made, seconded <br />and unanimously carried, the matter was continued indefinitely and the Sub <br />Standards Director was requested to keep the property under surveillance. <br />1702 S. Walnut Street. Mrs. Lee Swan, 2022 S. Swygart Street, South Bend, <br />Indiana, appeared before the Board and presented a complaint bearing the <br />signatures of 53 persons complaining about the condition of the property at <br />1702 S. Walnut Street. Mr. Adamson reported this house has been posted as <br />unfit for human habitation; and that on April 28, 1970, the owner Mrs. Eugene <br />Annix wrote the Sub -Standards Department that she would authorize demolition <br />of the structure. <br />Demolition bids opened: <br />This being the time set, bids for demolition of the following properties <br />were opened. Non collusion affidavits were found to be proper and the bids <br />were: <br />508-510 Monroe Street: <br />O'Neal Trucking Co. $1,000.00 <br />B & J Demolition Co. $1,400.00 <br />A & J Demolition Co. 995.00 <br />Midwest Demolition Co. $1,484.00 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, contract for demolition of <br />the structure at 508-510 Monroe Street was awarded to O'Neal Trucking Company <br />on its lowest and best bid of $1,000.00. <br />661 LaPorte Avenue. <br />Midwest Demolition Co. $384.00 <br />B & J Demolition Co. $235.00 <br />O'Neal Trucking Company $300.00 <br />Mr. Donald Clements, owner, appeared before the Board and stated he has "torn <br />off the bad -side" of the garage and will replace the doors and will clean up <br />the trash in the yard as soon as the garage is fixed. U on motion made, <br />seconded and unanimously carried, the award of contract for demolition -of <br />the accessory building at 661 LaPorte Avenue was postponed two weeks to permit <br />the owner to complete the repairs and clean up the premises. If not completed <br />within that time Mr. Clements is advised the structure will be demolished. <br />1214 W.
