4/27/70 <br />301 Hydraulic Avenue. Richard Muesel, owner, appeared before the Board and stated <br />he will remove the building at 301 Hydraulic Avenue. Upon motion made, seconded <br />and unanimously carried, the matter was continued six weeks for the owner to <br />complete demolition of the structure. <br />661 LaPorte Avenue (accessory building). Donald Clements, owner, did not appear <br />as requested. Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Sub - <br />Standards Director was authorized to seek bids for demolition of the accessory <br />building at 661 LaPorte Avenue, <br />Later, Mr. Clements appeared before the Board with his attorney, Paul Schwertley, <br />and was informed of the action of the Board. Mr. Clements protested the <br />demolition of the structure. Following discussion, the President referred to <br />the action taken by the Board to demolish the structure and asked if there <br />was a motion to rescind that action. There was none, and the matter was concluded. <br />1015 E. Cedar Street. Attorney H. Theodore Noel] appeared before the Board on <br />behalf of the new owner of this property, Combs Decorating and Construction <br />Company, and stated it is the intention of the new owner to repair the building. <br />Bids having been received for demolition of the structure, it was moved, <br />seconded and carried that they be opened but award of contract held in abeyance <br />one week on condition that the owner, first, deposit with the Clerk of the Board <br />the sum of $25.00 for payment to the low bidder for his trouble in submitting <br />a bid, and, second, that the structure be closed up within the week. <br />Thereupon, bids for demolition of the structure at 1015 E. Cedar Street were <br />opened. Non collusion affidavits were found to be proper. The bids were as <br />follows: <br />Bryant Excavating Co. $785.00 <br />O'Neal Trucking Company $g3'SN"lam <br />Mr. Noell is to have his client deposit $25.00 with the Clerk of the Board for <br />award to Bryant Excavating Company as the low bidder. <br />114 W. South Street. Edward Lipsky, 52063 Helman Street, South Bend, Indiana, <br />owner, appeared before the Board and stated he is willing to have the <br />building demolished. It was moved, seconded and unanimously carried that the <br />Sub -Standards Director be authorized to seek bids for the demolition of the <br />structure at 114 W. South Street. <br />1606 Prairie Avenue. Mr. Adamson reported the owner will remove this structure <br />himself. The motion was made, seconded and unanimously carried to continue <br />the matter tw6 weeks -to permit the owner to demolish the structure. <br />1214 W. Ford Street. Neither DeVere Jones nor Warren D. Hinman appeared as re <br />quested. The motion was made,seconded and unanimously. carried to authorize <br />the Sub -Standards Director to seek bids for demolition of the structure at 1214 <br />W. Ford Street. <br />608 S. Clinton Street. No representative of the Indiana Avenue United Pentecostal <br />Church, owner of this property, appeared as requested. Upon motion made, <br />seconded and unanimously carried, the Sub -Standards Director was authorized to <br />seek bids for demolition of the property. <br />508-5.10 E. Monroe Street. Neither Worthie nor E. B. Haynes appeared as re- <br />quested. Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Sub -Standards <br />Director was authorized to seek bids for demolition of the structure. <br />Demolition bids opened: <br />This being the time set, bids were opened for demolition of the -following <br />structures. Non collision affidavits were ,found to be proper. The bids were: <br />1407 W. Sample Street: <br />B & J Demolition Co. $400.00 <br />O'Neal Trucking Co. $385.00 <br />Bryant Excavating Co. $535.00 <br />On motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, contract for demolition of <br />the structure at 1407 W.
