4/27/70 301 Hydraulic Avenue. Richard Muesel, owner, appeared before the Board and stated he will remove the building at 301 Hydraulic Avenue. Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the matter was continued six weeks for the owner to complete demolition of the structure. 661 LaPorte Avenue (accessory building). Donald Clements, owner, did not appear as requested. Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Sub - Standards Director was authorized to seek bids for demolition of the accessory building at 661 LaPorte Avenue, Later, Mr. Clements appeared before the Board with his attorney, Paul Schwertley, and was informed of the action of the Board. Mr. Clements protested the demolition of the structure. Following discussion, the President referred to the action taken by the Board to demolish the structure and asked if there was a motion to rescind that action. There was none, and the matter was concluded. 1015 E. Cedar Street. Attorney H. Theodore Noel] appeared before the Board on behalf of the new owner of this property, Combs Decorating and Construction Company, and stated it is the intention of the new owner to repair the building. Bids having been received for demolition of the structure, it was moved, seconded and carried that they be opened but award of contract held in abeyance one week on condition that the owner, first, deposit with the Clerk of the Board the sum of $25.00 for payment to the low bidder for his trouble in submitting a bid, and, second, that the structure be closed up within the week. Thereupon, bids for demolition of the structure at 1015 E. Cedar Street were opened. Non collusion affidavits were found to be proper. The bids were as follows: Bryant Excavating Co. $785.00 O'Neal Trucking Company $g3'SN"lam Mr. Noell is to have his client deposit $25.00 with the Clerk of the Board for award to Bryant Excavating Company as the low bidder. 114 W. South Street. Edward Lipsky, 52063 Helman Street, South Bend, Indiana, owner, appeared before the Board and stated he is willing to have the building demolished. It was moved, seconded and unanimously carried that the Sub -Standards Director be authorized to seek bids for the demolition of the structure at 114 W. South Street. 1606 Prairie Avenue. Mr. Adamson reported the owner will remove this structure himself. The motion was made, seconded and unanimously carried to continue the matter tw6 weeks -to permit the owner to demolish the structure. 1214 W. Ford Street. Neither DeVere Jones nor Warren D. Hinman appeared as re quested. The motion was made,seconded and unanimously. carried to authorize the Sub -Standards Director to seek bids for demolition of the structure at 1214 W. Ford Street. 608 S. Clinton Street. No representative of the Indiana Avenue United Pentecostal Church, owner of this property, appeared as requested. Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Sub -Standards Director was authorized to seek bids for demolition of the property. 508-5.10 E. Monroe Street. Neither Worthie nor E. B. Haynes appeared as re- quested. Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Sub -Standards Director was authorized to seek bids for demolition of the structure. Demolition bids opened: This being the time set, bids were opened for demolition of the -following structures. Non collision affidavits were ,found to be proper. The bids were: 1407 W. Sample Street: B & J Demolition Co. $400.00 O'Neal Trucking Co. $385.00 Bryant Excavating Co. $535.00 On motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, contract for demolition of the structure at 1407 W. Sample Street was awarded to O'Neal Trucking Company on its bid of $385.00. 1 1 1
