3/30/70 <br />936-9362 W. LaSalle. Mr. Adamson stated he has not yet heard further from <br />attorney William Hosinski. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the <br />matter was continued one week. <br />117 E. Elder Street. Mr. Adamson reported all occupants of this structure <br />have been relocated; that the property stands open; that the sub -standard <br />record on this property dates back to 1965; that the owner lives in <br />Pennsylvania; that the land contract buyer has been notified but nothing <br />has been heard from him. It was moved, seconded and carried that the Sub - <br />Standards Director be authorized to seek bids for demolition of the structure <br />at 117 E. Elder Street. <br />321 Laurel Street and 1003 Western Avenue. Mr. Adamson reported the St. 111. <br />Florien Society, owners of these two structures,have secured the properties <br />and are securing permits to have them removed. Upon motion made, seconded <br />and carried, the matter was continued indefinitely, and the Sub -Standards <br />Director was instructed to keep the properties under surveillance. <br />1016 W. Washington Street. Mr. Adamson reported the St. Joseph County <br />Commissioners have not yet resolved the legal problems involving this property <br />and the matter, upon motion made, seconded and carried, was continued one -week. <br />123 N. Jackson. Mr. Adamson reported this property had been closed but is now <br />partially open. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the matter was <br />continued one week, and the Sub -Standards Director was directed to advise <br />Clem Winkowski, representative of the owner, that unless something is done <br />within the week, the Board will authorize the contractor to proceed with the <br />demolition of the structure. <br />661 LaPorte Avenue. Mr. Adamson repgrted he is waiting to hear from the <br />Health Department in reference to this property. Upon motion made, seconded <br />and carried, the matter was continued one week. <br />Request for owners of sub -standard properties to appear before Board 4/13/70. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the request of <br />the Sub -Standards Director for the following owners of sub -standard properties <br />to appear before the Board on April 13, 1970. <br />Ernest and Lena King 1527, W. Linden Avenue <br />Eugene L. and Elizabeth Mendenhall 725 S. Fellows Street <br />St. Joseph Co. Commissioners 1454 E. Donald Street <br />Mrs. Anna Bladecki, Admr. of the <br />Estate of John Brodzinski 841-843-8432 S. Bendix <br />And the Clerk was directed to so notify said owners by certified mail. <br />Demolition bids opened: <br />This being the date set, bids were opened for the demolition of 510 E. Ohio <br />Street. Non collusion affidavits were found to be proper. Bids were as <br />follows: <br />Midwest Demolition Co. $369.00 <br />B & J Demolition_ Co. $335.00 <br />Bryant Excavating Co. $385.00 <br />O'Neal Trucking Co. $479.00 <br />A & J Demolition Co. $433.00 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, contract for demolition <br />of the structure at 510 E. Ohio Street was awarded to B & J Demolition Company <br />on its low bid of $335.00. <br />RECOMMENDATION FOR DIESEL POWERED STEEL WHEEL ROLLER - STREET DEPARTMENT <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the recommendation <br />of the Street Commissioner for award of contract for 5 to 8 ton Diesel powered <br />steel wheel roller for the Street Department to Stockberge.r Machinery, Inc., <br />on its low bid of $1,999.00 (net). <br />1 <br />1 <br />
