March 30, 1970. <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works and Safety convened at 9:30 <br />A.M., on March 30, 1970. Presdnt were Lloyd S. Taylor and S. J. Crumpacker. <br />Tbo.minutesrof the previous meetings were reviewed and approved. <br />APPLICATION FOR APPOINTMENT TO POLICE"D.EPARTMENT <br />The application of Timothy Edwin Jozwiak for appointment to the Police De- <br />partment was filed with the Board and referred to the Personnel Director <br />for further processing. <br />APPLICATION FOR APPOINTMENT AS SPECIAL POLICE OFFICER <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the appointment <br />of Manual Sadural as a special police officer upon the recommendation of <br />Chief of Police Loren M. Bussert. <br />REQUEST TO ATTM MEETING IN NORMAN. OKLAHOMA - FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />V- Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the request of <br />JC Fire.Chief Joseph L. Zurat for Assistant Chief Richard Busfield and <br />Assistant Chief William Diedrich to attend the Arson Investigators meeting <br />in Norman, Oklahoma April 6 to 9, 1970. <br />REQUEST TO ATTEND CONFERENCE IN NEW YORK CITY - BUILDING DEPARTMENT <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the request of <br />the Building Commissioner to attend the American Society of Planning <br />Officials Conference in New York City, April 4 to 9, 1970. <br />REQUEST FOR INSPECTORS TO ATTEND INSPECTORS' SCHOOL IN LAFAYETTE INDIANA <br />Upon motion made, seconded -and carried, the Board approved the request of <br />the Building Commissioner for approximately one half the inspectors of <br />the Building Department to attend the Indiana Inspectors' Association Spring <br />School in Lafayette, Indiana, April 13 to 15, 1970. <br />MONTHLY REPORT - WEIGHTS AND MEASURES DEPARTMENT <br />Monthly report for February., 1970, of the Weights and Measures Department <br />was reviewed and ordered filed. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT - SUB -STANDARDS DIVISION <br />J. W. Adamson, Sub -Standards Director, appeared before the Board and the <br />following matters were taken up: <br />816 W. Oak Street. John Lamirand appeared before the Board and stated they <br />are in the process of closing the building and hope to sell the property <br />within the next 30 days. It was moved, seconded and carried that the matter <br />be continued one week and Mr. Lamirand was advised by the Board that if the <br />property is not closed within the week, the Board will consider demolition <br />bids which have been received but unopened pending action by the owner. <br />1726 S. Taylor Street. Attorney Charles F. Crutchfield appeared before the <br />Board with Mrs. Alex Zakrowski, owner of this property. Mr. Crutchfield <br />explained he had just been contacted by Mrs. Zakrowski and was unfamiliar <br />with the circumstances of this property, and asked a continuance. Mrs. <br />Zakrowski stated that she is in the process of cleaning up the premises. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried the matter was continued three weeks <br />1302 27th Street. Herbert Tucker, Jr., appeared before the Board and stated <br />he has purchased this property and intends to tear down the house and build <br />a new one. Mr. Adamson stated that his Department was not aware this property <br />had been sold to Mr. Tucker and that bids have been received for its <br />demolition. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the matter was continued <br />three months, and the Sub -Standards Director was directed to keep the property <br />under surveillance. <br />
