3/23/70 <br />RETIREMENT FROM POLICE DEPARTMENT DEPARTMENT - ALEX M. KRUPA <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board accepted the <br />retirement of Alex M.'Krupa from the South Bend Police Department, effective <br />March 20, 1970, having been appointed'March 9, 1942 and having served <br />over 28 years. <br />MILITARY DUTY - POLICE OFFICER JEROME D. KRECZMER <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved the <br />request of Potice officer Jerome D. Kreczmer to be excused for military duty <br />from April 5 to April 20, 1970, upon the recommendation of Chief of Police <br />Loren M. Bussert. <br />REQUEST TO MOVE BUILDING APPROVED <br />Qc Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the request of Lewis <br />lam, Mitschelen, mover, to remove the Christian Reformed Church building from <br />p: 3401 McKinley Avenue to the southwest corner of Hickey and Hepler Road, <br />was approved by the Board upon t(hh recommendation of Forrest R. West, <br />Building Commissioner. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT - SUB -STANDARDS DIVISION <br />J. W. Adamson, Sub -Standards Director; appeared before the Board and the <br />following matters were taken up; <br />936-936'z W. LaSalle Street. Attorney William Hosinski appeared before the <br />Board on behalf of Jean Pridmon Bryon, owner, who lives in Scottsdale, <br />Arizona. Mr. Hosinski>:.stated the property is being sold on land contract <br />to Victoria and Tonia Matney; that he notified them to appear before the <br />Board this date, but they failed to do so; that the property is in bad <br />condition and he would be agreeable to its demolition; that he will contact <br />Mrs. Bryon and advise the Board or Mr. Adamson of her decision. Upon motion <br />made, seconded and carried the matter was continued one week. <br />1320 Hine Street. Bernard Thomas, owner, appeared before the Board and <br />asked an extension of'60 days in which to bring the property up to standard <br />or have it demolished. Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried <br />the matter was continued 60 days on condition that the building be kept closed. <br />661 LaPorte Avenue. Mrs. Louise Rozek, 624 N. Birdsell, presented to the <br />Board a complaint signed by herself and nine others concerning the deteriorated <br />condition of the property at 661 LaPorte Avenue owned by Don Clemons. <br />After some discussion, Mrs. Rosek was told that if there has been a specific <br />violation of an ordinance then the matter can be looked into, but if there <br />has been no violation'of the law then the Bard is limited as to what it can <br />do. <br />117 E. Elder Street. Neither Melburn nor Margie C. Yeager appeared as requested. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried,_ the matter was continued <br />one week. <br />1302 27th Street. Mrs. Crystal Perry did not appear as requested. Mr. <br />Adamson stated the house is open, and that it has been posted as unfit for <br />human habitation. Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the <br />Sub -Standards Director was authorized to seek bids for demolition of the <br />structure at 1302 27th Street. <br />510 E, Ohio -Street. Francis Perkins, who lives in California, did not appear <br />as requested. Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Sub - <br />Standards Director was authorized to seek bids for demolition of the structures <br />at 510 E. Ohio Street. <br />
