3/16/70 17 623 N. Birdsell. In response to a complaint of neighbors, Mr. Adamson re- ported his Department had made an investigation; that the property was posted on March.9, 1970, as unfit for human habitation and that the owner has been provided a list of repairs necessary to bring the property up to standard; that the owner states he will bring the property up to standard. Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the matter was continued four weeks, and the Sub -Standards Director was requested to keep the property under surveillance. Demolition bids opened: This being the time set, bids for demolition of the following properties were opened. Non collusion affidavits were examined and found to.be proper. Bids were as follows: 513 S. Walnut Street: Bryant Excavating Company $385.00 M;>i.dwest Demolition Co. 364.00 A & J Demolition Co. 333.00 O'Neal Trucking Company 429.00 9C X Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, contract for the demolition of the structure at 513 S. Walnut Street was awarded to A J Demolition Company on its low bid of $333.00. 1132 S. Franklin Street: Midwest Demolition Corporation $434.00 O'Neal Trucking Company 523.00 Bryant Excavating Company 535.00 A & J Demolition Company 320.00 Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, contract for demolition of the structure at 1132 S. Franklin Street was awarded to A & J Demolition Company on its low bid of $320.00. 745 N. Frances: Bryant Excavating Company $285.00 Midwest Demolition Co. 414.00 B & J Demolition Co. 180.00 O'Neal Trucking Co. 289.00 A & J Demolition Co. 245.00 Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, contract for demolition of the structure at 745 N. Frances Street was awarded to B & J Demolition Company on its low bid of $180.00. 117 S. Lafayette Boulevard: Bryant Excavating Co. $1,015.00 Midwest Demolition Co. 1,430.00 O'Nea14,Trucking Company 1,275.00 It was moved, seconded and unanimously carried that contract for demolition of the structure at 117 S. Lafayette Boulevard be awarded to Bryant Excavat- ing Company on its low bid of $1,015.00 and that the cost of the demolition be paid from the cumulative capital improvement fund of the City of South Bend. Mr. -Adamson, Sub -Standards Director, reported to the Board that he had con- tacted demolition contractor Bradberry in reference to the demolition by him of 1205 West Colfax Avenue, and that Mr. Bradberry will take care of the damaged sidewalk and curbing and that $25.00 will.be deposited with the Clerk of the Board for the low bidder. Mr. Adamson further reported to the Board it is his understanding the demolition of the properties at 319, 321 and 325 Hydraulic Avenue will soon be completed.
