In response to a complaint of neighbors, Mr. Adamson re- <br />ported his Department had made an investigation; that the property was <br />posted on March.9, 1970, as unfit for human habitation and that the owner <br />has been provided a list of repairs necessary to bring the property up to <br />standard; that the owner states he will bring the property up to standard. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the matter was continued <br />four weeks, and the Sub -Standards Director was requested to keep the property <br />under surveillance. <br />Demolition bids opened: <br />This being the time set, bids for demolition of the following properties <br />were opened. Non collusion affidavits were examined and found to.be proper. <br />Bids were as follows: <br />513 S. Franklin Street was awarded to A & J Demolition <br />Company on its low bid of $320.00. <br />745 N. Frances Street was awarded to B & J Demolition <br />Company on its low bid of $180.00. <br />117 S. Lafayette Boulevard: <br />Bryant Excavating Co. $1,015.00 <br />Midwest Demolition Co. 1,430.00 <br />O'Nea14,Trucking Company 1,275.00 <br />It was moved, seconded and unanimously carried that contract for demolition <br />of the structure at 117 S. Lafayette Boulevard be awarded to Bryant Excavat- <br />ing Company on its low bid of $1,015.00 and that the cost of the demolition <br />be paid from the cumulative capital improvement fund of the City of South Bend. <br />Mr. -Adamson, Sub -Standards Director, reported to the Board that he had con- <br />tacted demolition contractor Bradberry in reference to the demolition by him <br />of 1205 West Colfax Avenue, and that Mr. Bradberry will take care of the <br />damaged sidewalk and curbing and that $25.00 will.be deposited with the Clerk <br />of the Board for the low bidder. <br />Mr. Adamson further reported to the Board it is his understanding the <br />demolition of the properties at 319, 321 and 325 Hydraulic Avenue will soon <br />be completed. <br />HEARING ON VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3308, 1970 - DONAED F.
