8/28/72 <br />234 Milton Street This being the date set for receiving bids for the <br />demolition of the structure at 234 Milton Street, the following bids <br />were opened and read: Non -collusion affidavit was found to be in order: <br />Midwest 4574.00 <br />Bryant Excavation Co. 600.00 <br />O'Neal Trucking Company 675.00 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried the award was made to the <br />Midwest Excavation Company on its low bid. <br />1116 Whiteman Court Mr. Steed informed the Board that the structure <br />at 1116 Whiteman Court was being demolished privately. <br />124 East Elder Street This being the date set for receiving bids for the <br />demolition of the structure at 124 East Elder Street, the following bids <br />were opened and read: Non -collusion affidavit was found to be in order: <br />Bryant Excavation Co. <br />$670.00 <br />Midwest Demolition <br />694.00 <br />O'Neal Trucking Company <br />775.00 <br />e-1 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the <br />award was made to the <br />Bryant Excavation Company on its low bid. <br />2505 Linden Avenue This being the date set <br />for receiving bids for the <br />demolition of the structure at 2505 Linden Avenue, the following bids <br />were opened and read: Non -collusion affidavit was found to be in order: <br />Bryant Excavating Company <br />$430.00 <br />Midwest Demolition <br />783.00 <br />O'Neal Trucking Company <br />500.00 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the <br />award was made to the <br />Bryant Excavating Company on its low bid. <br />COMPLAINT - EXCAVATIONS IN LOTS CEDAR & ARTHUR - TWYCKENHAM & CORBY <br />A letter was addressed to Mr. Sweeney from Councilman Roger Parent <br />complaining about the excavations that still remain in lots at the <br />corner of Cedar and Arthur Streets and the corner of Twyekenham Drive <br />and Corby Street. Mr. Sweeney stated that the property at Cedar and <br />Arthur has been deeded to the City and United Build&rs, who dug the <br />excavation originally, still wish to purchase the lot, so he thinks <br />something will be work6d out. The lot at the corner of Twyekenham <br />Drive and Corby street belongs to Ada] and Betty B. Smith, and the <br />Clerk was instructed to write to them requesting them to have the <br />excavation filled in immediately. <br />ASSESSMENT ROLL HEARING - VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3363,1972 - WILLIAM PENN <br />This being the date set, hearing was held on the Assessment Roll in <br />Vacation Resolution No. 3363,1972, for the vacation of the first north - <br />south alley East of Prairie Avenue, running from Indiana Avenue south <br />to the first East-West alley. <br />The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend <br />Tribune and the Tri County News on August 11, August 18, and August <br />25,1972 and same were found to be sufficient. No remonstrators appeared <br />and no written remonstrances were filed. Mr. Sweeney stated he had <br />received notice that James Creech had filed suit against the City <br />in the matter of the vacation. Upon -motion made, seconded and unan- <br />imously carried, the Assessment Roll showing no net damages and no net <br />benefits was approved as adopted and said Resolution in all things <br />ratified and confirmed and said proceedings closed. <br />
