Im <br />8/21/72 <br />wherein they regret that the Board of Public Works and Safety had <br />received complaints about their scrap haulers, and they have requested <br />them to be more careful in the future in cleaning and loading their <br />trucks. This was ordered filed. <br />LETTER FROM MARION MINDER - GARAGE SALES <br />A letter was received from Marion Minder, 50645 U.S #31, South Bend, <br />Indiana, suggesting that the City license garage sales. Upon motion <br />made, seconded and carried, this was referred to the Common Council <br />for the consideration of an Ordinance. <br />REQUEST FROM J. E. WALZ, INC., FOR PERMISSION TO ERECT TENT <br />A request was received from J. E. Walz, Inc., for permission to install <br />a tent at 3423 South Michigan Street for the -purpose of holding a tent <br />sale. As the J. E. Walz Company burned to the ground on this date, the <br />matter was tabled. <br />LEASE BETWEEN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND AND GEORGE S. SMITH <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved a form of <br />(.� lease between the City of South Bend and Gepege S. Smith of Smith Shell <br />Service for the operation of a parking apt at the southwest corner of <br />v Western Avenue and Michigan Street. <br />HEARING ON ASSESSMENT ROLL 3361,1972- SYCAMORES_,INC. - ALLEY EAST OF HIGH <br />August 21, 1972 having been set as the date for holding a hearing on <br />Vacation Resolution No. 3361,1972 for the vacat-ion of the first North <br />and South alley East of High Street, running from Dubai] South to t§e first <br />Eatt add West alley alongside and adjacent to Lot 88 in Oak Park Second <br />Addition hearing is now held. <br />The Clerk tendered prof of publication of notice on the 4th day of <br />August, the ]lth day of August and the 18th day of August, 1972 in the <br />South Bend Tribune and the Tri County News, and same were found to <br />be sufficient. <br />No remonstrators having appeared and no written remonstrances having <br />been filed, upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, said <br />Resolution adopted on the PO day of July, 1972 is ratified and con- <br />firmed and said alley vacated, The Assessment Rol] showing no net <br />damages and no net benefits. was confirmed and said proceedings closed. <br />HEARING ON ASSESSMENT ROLL 3362,1972 - ALLEY BETWEEN MILTON AND CALVERT <br />August 21, 1972 having been set for holding a hearing on Vacation Res- <br />olution No. 3362,1972 for the vacation of the first North -South alley <br />East of Michigan Street from the South R/W line of Milton Street to <br />the North R/W line of Calvert Street, hearing is now held. <br />The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend <br />Tribune and the Tri County News on August 4, August 11 and August 18, <br />1972 and same were found to be sufficient. <br />No remonstrators having appeared and no written remonstrances having <br />been filed, upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Assessem ent <br />Roll showing no net damages and no net benefits was approved asp adopted <br />and said Resolution in all things ratified and confirmed and said <br />proceedings closed. <br />
