420 <br />8/21 /72 <br />1813 Sample Street Mr. Winkowski appeared before the. Board to ask a <br />further extension of time. The work that was to have been done on the <br />structure at 1813 Sample Street had not been done according to pictures <br />taken by Mr. Hadley on Friday. Mr. Winkowski said he had a contractor <br />who was supposed to do the work but he hadnt gotten to it. Upon motion <br />made, seconded and carried the Board authorized Mr. Hadley to seek <br />bids for the demolition of the structure at11813 Sample Street. The <br />Clerk was directed to write a letter to Rev. Billy Kirk of the Redevel- <br />opment Commission Relocation Department requesting him to relocate the <br />people in the house as soon as possible. <br />140 North Shore Drive The matter of the sub standard condition of the <br />structure at 140 North Shore Drive was continued for one week until the <br />return of Mr. Steed. <br />REMONSTRANCE IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 3365 IRONWOOD DRIVE SIDEWALKS <br />A letter was received, registered mail, from Ray and Peggy A. EberhartV <br />15100 New 116ad, Mishawaka, Indiana 46544, remonstrating against the <br />proposed sidewalk project on North Ironwood Drive. Upon motion made,. <br />seconded and carried, this was ordered filed. <br />REMONSTRANCE -IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 3365, IRONWOOD DRIVE SIDEWALKS <br />A remonstrance containing twenty-one signatures was received by the <br />Board and upon motion made, seconded and carried, -was referred to the <br />Consulting Engineer of the project for verification., <br />PETITION FOR` IRONWOOD DRIVE SIDEWALKS <br />A petition of twentytwo pages, containing four hundred twenty-four <br />signatures, requesting the construction of sidewalks on North Ironwood <br />Drive in the 600, 700 and 800 blocks, was presented to the Board and <br />upon motion made, seconded and carried, was ordered filed. <br />SUIT FILED AGAINST CITY BY JAMES CREECH <br />A notice was received by the Board that a suit had been filed by James <br />Creech against the vacation of the alley East of Prairie Avenue running from <br />Indiana Avenue South to the first East West alley, lunder vacation Res- <br />olution No. 3363. Upon motion made, seconded -and carried, this was <br />referred to the Legal Department. <br />LETTER FROM TORRINGTON COMPANY <br />The following letter was received by the Board -FROM THE Torrington Company <br />which is as follows: <br />"We thank you for your letter of notification on complaints of steed: <br />scrap shavings falling on the City Streets. <br />The haulers for the transfer of such scrap material from our plant have <br />been notified, as requested. <br />You are aware that there are other metal fabricating plants in the area <br />who also use scrap metal transportation. We will certainly control our <br />materials by new methods of compaction to avoid the problem." <br />This letter was signed for Torrington Company by John A.
