Farr while under the influence of intox- icants. WHEREFORE, the undersigned requests that the Board of Public. Works and Safety order a hearing had upon the charges contained herein fix a date and time for said hearing before said Board, and that proper notice of said time and place of said hearing of the charges be served upon Patrolman John E. Farr is hereby notified to appear before the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of South Bend, Indiana, at 9:30 o'clock on the 14 day of August, 1972, in the Board Room on the 13th floor of the County -City Building, 227 West Jefferson, South Bend, Indiana, to answer the charges attached hereto and made a part hereof, which charges have been filed in writing against him by the Chief of Police of the South Bend, Police Department, Robert W. Farr by delivering the same jo him at his residence at 12168 Avon Street, Granger, Indiana, and by leaving a copy at said residence, and further by serving a copy of this notice and these said charges on John E. Farr's personal Attorney Phillip C. Potts, by delivering the same to his business address in the J.M.S. Building, South Bend, Indiana., this 14 day of August, 1972. s/ Philip Carlton Potts This being the date set for the hearing on charges agains Patrolman John E. Farr, said John Evans Farr appeared in person and by his Counsel Philip C. Potts. Notice of charges of violations was served upon Mr. Potts his attorney, and charges were filed with the Board showing all particulars. Mr. Sweeney, City Attorney, President of the Board asked Patrolman Farr how he pled. Patrolman Farr pled guilty. Mr. Potts acknowledged receipt of the notice of the charges and said to the charges in essence, Patrolman Farr would plead guilty. He said Patrolman Farr proceeded to the scene with the idea of assisting the County P olice, but he would plead guilty to all three charges. Patrolman Farr has been on the Police Department for four years and he would like to remain a member of the department. He admits he was wrong in the above charges
