I.39 <br />7/31/72 <br />530 South Fellows Street Walter Rice, Attorney, appeared before the <br />Board with the owner of the property at 530 South Fellows Street, Ethel <br />Anne Rice, and stated the Federal Housing Authority has a five year <br />lease on the property. He asked for a continuance of 30 days so he <br />can confer with the Housing Authority. Upon motion made, seconded and <br />carried, the matter was continued for thirty days. <br />124 East Elder Street Forrest Ginz, Attorney appeared before the Board <br />and requested a continuance of two weeks. Upon motion made, seconded <br />and carried, the request was granted. <br />608 East Ohio Street, Harry D. Brooks having been requested to come <br />before the Board, appeared before the Board and informed them that <br />he is waiting for an insurance settlement on the property at 608 <br />East Ohio Street. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, Mr. Steed <br />was authorized to seek bids for the demolition of the property. <br />1318 S. Rush Street Mrs. Doris M. Rouch, owner of the property, <br />appeared before the Board and said she would like the city to have the <br />property demolished. Upon jetion made, seconded and carried, Mr. <br />Steed was authorized to seek bids for the demolition of the property. <br />1135 East Madison Mr. Steed informed the Board that he had received <br />a letter from Mr. Leo Ritchey stating that he was not able to be in <br />town by this date, and that he was waiting for an insurance settle- <br />ment, and"%sked for a continuance. Mr. Monroe Henry, .the person who <br />is buying the property on a land contract also appeared before the <br />Board. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board directed <br />Mr. Steed to authorize bids for the demolition of the property and <br />directed the Clerk to write to Mr. Ritchey telling him to get in <br />touch witli ffie Board as soon as he returns to South Bend. <br />1813 Westr, Sample Street Mr. Clem Winkowski, 801 West LaSalle Street, <br />called the Board and requested an extension of twenty to thirty <br />days on the rehabilitation of the structure at 1813 West Sample <br />Street. 7Mr. Steed informed the Board he had made an investiga- <br />tion of the property and there has been very little work done. He <br />said the electricity had been turned on to help get the work done, <br />but Mr. Winkowski had not followed through. He stated the property <br />was unfit for human habitation, and the Board, upon motion made, <br />seconded and carried, directed Mr. Steed to.get the people relocated <br />and notify the owners. <br />606 Pennsylvania Upon motion made, seconded and carried, Mr. Steed <br />was authorized to seek bids for the demolition of the property at <br />606 Pennsylvania Avenue. <br />209 Elder Street This being the date set for receiving bids for the <br />demolition of the structure at 209 Elder Street, and only one bid <br />having been received, the following bid was opened and read: The <br />non -collusion affidavit was found to be in proper order: <br />O'Neal Trucking Company <br />$975.00 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the award for the bid for <br />demolition was made to O'Neal Trucking Company. <br />600 Crescent Street This being the date set for receiving bids for <br />the demolition of the structure at 608 Crescent Street, and only, <br />one bid having been received, the 4ollowing bid was opened.and read <br />after determing that the non -collusion affidavit was in proper order: <br />O'Neal Trucking Company $500.00 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the bid was awarded to the <br />O'Neal Trucking Company. <br />1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />
