i3 `J 6l <br />7/24/72 <br />REQUEST TO RELEASE BOND - AAA EXCAVATING & WRECKING COMPANY <br />Mr. West informed the Boafd that the Reliance insurance Company should <br />be advised that termination of this bond is not possible until such <br />time as demolition contracts covering five (5) structures, contracts <br />are between the Bureau of Engineering and the AAA Excavating and <br />Wrecking Company, are completed and approved. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board directed the Clerk <br />to so inform the Reliance Bonding Company. <br />AREA PLAN RECOMMENDATION FOR VACATION OF EDGEWOOD DRIVE - L. Smogor <br />Area Plan Commission files with the Board its favorable recommendation <br />for the vacation of Edgewood Drive r.unning North from East Edison. <br />The Bureau of Engineering is now requested to prepare a vacation Resol- <br />ution. <br />AREA PLAN RECOMMENDATION FOR THE VACATION OF PARALLEL STREET ETPAL'i�- PARV,a <br />Department <br />Area Plan Commission files with the Board its favorable recommendation <br />for the vacation of Parallel Street from College Street to the South <br />R/W line of Linden Avenue for the Park Department. The Bureau of <br />Engineering is now requested to prepare a vacation Resolution. Also <br />included i s an -area containing alleys streets and easements bounded <br />by the south right of way line of Linden Avenue, the east right of way <br />line of College Street, the North right of way line of Orange Street and <br />the West right of way line of Birdsell Street. <br />AWARDING OF CONTRACT - CLEVELAND ROAD SEWER <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the bid for <br />construction of the Cleveland Road Sewer was awarded to the Howell <br />Construction Company on its low bid of $102,014.00. <br />CONTRACT SIGNED BETWEEN CITY OF SOUTH BEND AND KENT KASER P.E. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved a contract <br />for the Engineering work to construct a sewer on Cleveland Road from <br />Lilac Road to Maple Road. <br />AGREEMENT BETWEEN CITY AND ENGINEERING PLANNING SERVICES, INC. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved <br />a contract between the City of South Bend, Indiana and the Engineering <br />Planning Services, Inc., for Professional Services for street improve- <br />ments at Michigan Avenue and Chippewa Avenue; Chippewa Avenue between <br />Michigan Avenue and Main Street; Main Street from Chippewa Avenue to <br />Dean Street; Calvert Street and Main Street at Broadway and Main Street; <br />at Indiana Avenue and Main Street and at Sample Street at Main Street. <br />LETTER FROM HEALTH DEPARTMENT RE: WEED COMPLAINTS <br />A letter was received from the Health Department referring to the Board <br />the complaints on weeds they have received and have notified owners of <br />property. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the complaint was <br />referred to the Legal Department for further action. <br />PERMISSION TO BLOCK CHAPIN STREET FROM CALVERT TO BRUCE STREET <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved a recommend- <br />ation from the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for the closing of Chapin <br />Street from Calvert to Bruce Street for a festival held on July 22nd. <br />B <br />PERMISSION TO BLOCK GORDON DRIVE FROM GORDON CIRCLE TO ROSE STREET <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the recomm- <br />endation of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting to close Gordon Dri'vej,, <br />from Gordon Circle to Rose Street for the purpose of holding a block <br />party on August 12, 1972 from 4P.M. to 12 midnight. <br />1 <br />1 <br />
