Roberts <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried the Board granted his request <br />and indicated those persons should come before the Board. <br />2112 Roger Street The bids on the structure at 2112 Roger Street <br />were received some time ago, and the awarding was held up pending <br />action by the Model Cities Neighborhood. The award for the demd- <br />lition of the structure is now awarded to Machine Supply Company <br />on its low bid of $305.00. <br />1914 S. Carlisle Street Mr. Andrew Molnar, 1902 South Carlisle <br />Streetappeared before the Board to request the demolition of the <br />structure at 1914 South Carlisle. it is in bad condition and <br />is very close to his home and he is afraid it is a fire hazard. <br />He presented a petition containing fifty signatures of persons <br />wishing the house demolished. Mr. Liszewski informed the Board that <br />the owner is in a mental institution and there are no heirs. The <br />Board, upon motion made, seconded and carried, referred the matter <br />to the Legal Department to find out what action can be taken. <br />2417 E. Edison Road A letter was received from William J. Jones <br />Acting Assistand Regional Counsel of the United States Post Office <br />informing the Board that the United States Postal Service had in- <br />structed its construction agent to ask for bids for the demolition <br />of the structure at 2417 E. Edison Road. Mr. Liszewski is of the <br />opinion the structure has already been demolished. <br />BEREAN SEVENTH DAY ADVENTIST CHURCH USE OF ALLEY <br />A letter was received from the Seventh Day Berean Adventist Church <br />asking permission to block an alley adjacent to the lot where they <br />are holding tent services for the period of six weeks. Upon motion <br />made, seconded and carried, the request was granted. <br />LETTER FROM S. LAWRENCE WEBB - 920 WEST WASHINGTON STREET <br />South Bend Board of Public dorks and Safety <br />County City Building <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Re: Demolished House <br />Sirs: <br />This organization seems to be getting muse of the complaints from <br />this area--reason-wedo take such action as we can and act NOW. <br />We have had three complaints on the demolished house in the 900 <br />block of West Washington Street --the first one was because a child <br />hurt herself on a nail --one was because of the Fire hazard and danger <br />to the other homes in the area and today, because of the gang of <br />children using it for a playground and smoking hideaway. Now this <br />house has been half down for more than two weeks, and nothing has been <br />done to clean up the mess. If you have any doubts I would advise that <br />you go to look at it. I dont know who is to blame but it is a rather <br />
