7/3/72 June 30, 1972 Board of Public Works and Safety 13th Floor County City Building South Bend, Indiana 46601 Re: Resignation of Firefighter Michael Dombrowski Honorable Board Members: I am attaching for your information a letter of resignation from Firefighter Michael Dombrowski as an employee of the South Bend Fire Department. As set out in his letter, his resignation stems from the fact that a request for a leave of absence was denied by this office. It is my opinion that his request was inconsistent with the intene and purpose of normal or emergency leave granting. Firefighter Dombrowski requested that his resignation be effective on the 1st day of July, 1972. This request meets with my approval and I would recommend that same be granted. Thank you. Bland, Fire Chief Upon motion made, seconded and carried the recommendation was accepted and the resignation of Firefighter Michael Dombrowski was accepted as of July 1, 1972 PERMISSION TO BURN IN SPECIFIED LOCATIONS The Chief presented the following letter: July 3, 1972 Board of Public Works and Safety 13th Floor County City Building South Bend, Indiana Re: Permission to burn in Specified locations Honorable Board Members: As a part of our training program, the South Bend Fire Department from time to time practices the art of firefighting through the use of vacant properties. It is hereby requested that this department be granted permission to contact and deal with appropriate governmental units to fulfill the needs of such a training program. Departments directly involved will be the Department of Engineering, Department of Redevelopment, Sub -Standard Housing, St. Joseph County Health Department, and possibly demolition contractors.
