323 <br />5/30/72 <br />RESIGNATION OF OFFICER JOHN R. HAWLEY <br />The above officer having tendered his resignation from the South Bend <br />Police Department, Chief Seals recommends that his resignation be <br />accepted as of June 5, 1972. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board accepted <br />the recommendation of Chief Seals and accepted the resignation of Officer <br />John R. Hawley from the Police Department as of June 5, 1972. <br />RETIREMENT OF WILLIAM DARL BUSH <br />William Darl Bush having made application and declaration for retire- <br />ment, Chief Seals now recommends that the request be granted. Upon <br />motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board granted the <br />request for retirement of William Darl Bush as of June 1, 1972. <br />ANNUAL SUMMER FESTIVAL PARADE <br />d4 The foilowi.ng letter was presented by Chief Seals: <br />M May 25, 1972 <br />Board of Public Works and Safety <br />County City Building <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Gentlemen: <br />Once again we have been 1 nVited to participate in the annual Summer <br />Festival Parade at Michigan City, Indiana, to be held this year on <br />July 1, at 1:00 p.m. <br />With your permission, we would like to send three solo motorcycles to <br />represent the South Bend Police Department. Participants will assemble <br />at the Michigan City Police Station at 12 noon the day of the parade. <br />Your consideration of this request will be appreciated. <br />Sincerely, <br />s/ Robert W. Seals <br />Chief of Police <br />RWS/mm <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board granted <br />permission for the three motorcycles to be in the Parade on July I. - <br />CADETS FOR POLICE CADET PROGRAM APPROVED <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the following recommendations for <br />the Police Cadet Program were approved by the Board: <br />David Paul Woods Andrea Kay Litka <br />Eugene Edward Eyster Lance Collyer Dunn <br />Terry Davis Young Deborah Lucille Walter <br />Charles Joseph Burns Joseph Robert Flowers <br />Douglas John Radican Stanley Allen Korabek <br />Kenneth Michael Horvath <br />SPECIAL POLICE COMMISSIONS - CHRISTY R. TIROTTA - DONALD L. DECKER <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, Special Police Commissions were <br />approved for Christy R. Tirotta and Donald L. Decker both employees of <br />the South Bend Street Department. <br />
