SI22/72 <br />ORDER TO ENGINEER FOR PRELIMINARY PLANS - ALLEYS FROM OAKWOOD TO LATHROP <br />Upon motion made, seconed and unanimously carried the Board approved <br />an order to Clyde E. Williams & Associates, Inc., for preliminary plans, <br />estimates and the preliminary improvement resolution for improving the <br />alleys from•Oakwood Boulevard to Lathrop Street between Inglewood Place <br />and Hollywood Place by constructing a concrete pavement. <br />CITY CIVIL'ENGINEER'S RECOMMENDATION <br />TO THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY: <br />Referring to the petition of Robert P. Bednarek and 10 others for the <br />improvement of the alleys from Oakwood Boulevard to Lathrop Street <br />between Inglewood Place and Hollywood Place by construction a concrete <br />pavement, 1 would recommend that the Petition be granted. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />William J. Richardson, P.E. <br />City Civil Engineer <br />CITY CIVIL ENGINEER'S RECOMMENDATION <br />Referring to the Petition of Mr. & Mrs. John Heisler, Jr. and no others <br />V for the improvement of North Ironwood Drive from Bader Avenye to Corby <br />V Street by constructing a public sidewalk, I would recommend that the <br />petition be granted. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />William J. Richarrtdson, P.E. <br />City Civil Engineer <br />ORDER TO ENGINEER FOR PRELIMINARY PLANS - NORTH IRONWOOD DRIVE <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried,. the Board approved <br />an order to Clyde E. Williams & Associates, Inc., for the preliminary <br />plans -estimates and the preliminary improvement resolution for improving <br />such part of North Ironwood Drive from Bader Avenue to Corby Street by <br />constructing a public Sidewalk. <br />REQUEST OF HOPE CHAPEL FOR PARADE AND PLAY AREA <br />A recommendation from the Bureau of Traffic that the Hope Chapel Church <br />of God be permitted to hold a parade on June 10, 1972 was, upon motion <br />made, seconded and carried, approved. <br />The recommendation that the use of Dayton Street for a play area be -denied <br />was also, upon motion made, seconded and carried, approved. <br />REQUEST FOR MAURICE MATTHYS LITTLE LEAGUE PARADE <br />A request was received from Thomas B. Sinkiewicz, 1003 Birchwood Avenue, <br />South Bend asking for permission to hold an opening day parade, with <br />a police escort and led by a fire truck on Saturday, May 27, 1972. <br />The request was granted upon motion made, seconded and carried, but the <br />use of a fire truck was denied, and the Police Chief was directed to <br />inquire whether a Civil Defense unit could be used instead of a police <br />escort. <br />REQUEST TO HOLD A PARADE BY THE WEST SIDE VETERANS MEMORIAL DAY COMMITTEE <br />A request was received from Clem F. Hazinski, Committee Treasurer and <br />Arrangement Chairman to hold the annual parade of the West Side Veterans <br />Memorial Day on Monday, May 29, 1972. Upon motion made, seconded and <br />carried, the request was granted. <br />
