31. 3 <br />5/22/72 <br />616 East Wenner Street <br />Marilyn J. Gant not having appeared before the Board as she was requested, <br />upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board now authorizes Mr. <br />Liszewski to seek bids for the demolition of the structure at 616 East <br />Wenger Street. <br />906 Stanfield Street <br />Mr. Frank Biiello and Mr. James Boker not having appeared before the Board <br />as they were requested to do, upon motion made, seconded and carried, the <br />Board now authorizes Mr. Liszewski to seek bids for the demolition of <br />the structure at 906 Stanfield Street. <br />Mr. Liszewski asked permission of the Board to bring before the Board the <br />owners of the following properties to sho cause why demolition should not <br />take place: <br />832 Indiana Avenue E. Joseph C. & Julia Torok <br />1219 Whiteman Court Gordon D. & Virginia L. Byer <br />1123 E. Donald Street'a Karl Dubail <br />405 E. Dubail Street Ray A..& Vera M. Ward <br />1007 Lincoln Way West Burke E. Hammond <br />V Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board authorized Mr. Liszewski <br />V to request the above persons to appear before the Board on Monday, June <br />5, 1972. <br />1805 East Ewing Avenue <br />Mr. Liszewski presented a report on the above address showing that al- <br />though the building is vacant work is being done on the dwelling and the <br />upstairs is being cleaned. He has written a letter to the Veterans Ad- <br />minstration in Washington, D.C. requesting that the building be repaired <br />in accordance with the Minimum Housing Codes of the City of South Bend. <br />If he has no response to the letter he will request that the building <br />be demolished. <br />1134 East Cedar Street <br />Mr. Forrest West presented the following report on the structure at <br />1134 East Cedar Street: <br />To: Board of Public Works and Safety <br />From: Building Department <br />Re: Sootheast corner Arthur and Cedar Streets <br />Property: 1134 East Cedar Street -,I, South Bend, Indiana <br />Lot No. 29 Sommers Addition <br />Previous owner: Catherine K. Pletcher, Executrix for the estate of <br />Clifford A. Pletcher, % Charles W. Hahn <br />Structure on 1134 East Cedar Street prior to TZ/23/70 was in a sub- <br />standard condition. Repairs were not accomplished. <br />Demolition procedure was begun. <br />Bids accepted 11/23/70 for demolition. Awarded to B&J Demolition 11/30/0. <br />Assignment of mechanic's lien to the City of South Bend, Indiana by B&J <br />Demolition on January 26, 1971. City obtained subject property as a result <br />of said lien, recorded 1/5/72 <br />However, on October 4, 1971 Builders United Enterprises, Inc., Charles <br />Howell, filed out an application for building permit. Excavation started <br />before filing the permit or obtaining a building Permit. <br />
