Parent <br />Councilman Fourth District <br />City of South Bend <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Dear Mr. Parent: <br />Thank you for your letter of May 18th, reference motorists not stopping <br />at stop signs. <br />The position of the Board is now, and has always been, that the laws <br />of the City of South Bend be upheld, and we do not condone the conditions <br />as alleged in your letter. <br />The Board will discuss the matter with Chief Seals. <br />Very truly yours, <br />s/ Charles A. Sweeney, Jr. President <br />CAS/fn BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY <br />e-! <br />SPECIAL POLICE COMMISSIONS APPROVED: <br />The Board, Upon motion made, seconded and carried, approved the Special <br />Police Commissions of Donald Decker, Christy Tirotta and extended the <br />Special Police Commission of Taffy Mallard to include working for the <br />S.S. Kresge Company. <br />SPECIAL POLICE COMMISSION BOND AND SPECIAL POLICE COMMISSION <br />A Special Police Commission Bond and a Special Police Commission was <br />approved for Lawrence Carnell, who will be working with Environmental <br />Director Watsey Gauldin. <br />COMPLAINT OF PEOPLES'S WEEKLY STAND AT CORNER WASHINGTON & MAIN STREETS <br />Mrs. Janet Allen complained about a newstand containing the People's <br />Weekly at Main and Washington Streets, and said it is a hazard to persons <br />walking. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried the Board directed that Chief Seals <br />investigate and order the stand removed. <br />DEDICATION OF A PART OF SAMPSON STREET <br />Mr. L. L. Pepple, 1833 Ireland Road presented the following dedication <br />of Sampson Street, which is to replace a dedication approved May 18, 1966 <br />and recorded in Book 222 Page 250, and is incorrect. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously approved the Board approved <br />the following dedication and accepted the dedication of a part of Sampson <br />Street with the contingency that the Civil City of South Bend is not <br />obligated to make the necessary improvements unless the city deems it <br />necessary or the city makes the improvements. <br />DEDICATION OF PORTION OF <br />SAMPSON STREET <br />KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS that Al Nall & Associates, Inc., <br />an Indiana Corporation, with principal offices located in South Bend, <br />Indiana, does hereby grant, dedicate and transfer to the City of South <br />Bend, Indiana,&the public generally a permanent easement for highway, <br />street and right of way purposes over the following described parcels of <br />real estate, to wit: <br />
