303. <br />5/15/72 <br />Mr. Forest West, Buklding Commissioner, has been alerted to this <br />situation. However, it appears that the lot in questions has been <br />deeded to the City and that the matter should be handled by the <br />Board of Public Works and Safety. Consequently, t ask you to take <br />immediate action to eliminate the safety hazards outline in this <br />letter. Thank you. <br />Sincerely, <br />s/ Roger 0. Parent <br />RP/pdc <br />Upon motion Made, seconded and carried, the Board referred the <br />matter to Mr. West for a full report as soon as possible. <br />COMPLAINT - MRS. LOUTS ROZEK <br />Mrs. Louise Rozek, 624 North Birdsell Street, complained to the <br />Board about a number of properties in the model Neighborhood Area. <br />1114 <br />She presented pictures showing the houses that should be boarded <br />up, including those at 672 LaPorte Avenue; 1334 Fassnacht Street; <br />lf� <br />1325 Linden Avenue, and a garage at 1319 Linden that should be <br />demolished. <br />These matter s were referred to Mr. Liszewski for investigation <br />and report. <br />LETTER FROM LLOYD S. TAYLOR - STUDEBAKER CARS <br />A letter was received from Mr. Lloyd S. Taylor, Museum Director, <br />informing the Board that the Miciiana Chapter of the Studebaker <br />Drivers Club is hosting the 8th Annual National Meet in South <br />Bend in July. They asked about the possibility of having an <br />auction to salvage some of the parts of the old studebaker cars <br />which were abandoned and towed to the City parking area. The <br />following letter was sent by Mr.. Charles A. Sweeney, Jr., Pres- <br />ident of the Board: <br />May 11, 1972 <br />Lloyd S. Taylor, <br />Executive Director, <br />Department of Redevelopment, <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Dear Lloyd: <br />Your inquiry concerning the possibility of the Michiana Chapter <br />of the Studebaker Drivers Club holding an auction of Studebaker cars <br />in the city's abandoned car lot has been considered and approved. <br />The question of diversion of the funds to the Museum must be answered <br />in the negative. Would you please contact Jim Barcome reference the <br />actual physical handling of the auction. He will coordinate the <br />removal of the Studebaker automobiles so that the bidders might <br />inspect the same. <br />Sincerely yours, <br />s/ Chases--4.
