St. Joseph Street <br />MachinerySupply Company $850.00 <br />B'& J Demolition 1,070.00 <br />O'Neal Trucking Company 749.00 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, -the bid was awarded to <br />O'Neal Trucking on its low bid of $749.00. <br />1805 East Ewing <br />Mr. Liszewski reported he had investigated the above address and found <br />the premises, which had been secured until recently, look as though <br />some one has been working there to clean it up. Mr. Liszewski was <br />instructed to see if he can determine the owners and ask them to <br />rehabilitate the structure. <br />RANDOLPH STREET AREA <br />Mr. David Wells, Assistant City Engineer, reported Mr. Vanatk is <br />proceeding with the clean up of the Randolph Street area, and he <br />would recommend honoring his contract as soon as the work is com- <br />pleted. <br />LETTER FROM COUNCILMAN ROGER PARENT' <br />The following letter was received from Councilman Roger Parent: <br />May 15, 1972 <br />Mr. Charles Sweeney, Chairman <br />Board of Public Works and Safety <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Dear Mr. Sweeney: <br />Residents have complained about the unsafe conditions caused by an <br />excavation on the southwest corner of Arthur and Cedar Streets. <br />Construction of a house was started on said lot about one year ago <br />and only the footing for the foundation has been finished. in <br />preparing the land to build the house, the major roots of a large <br />tree were severed. The tree is now dead and seems ready to topple, <br />on the house next door.
