Noble, Clerk." <br />Thereupon, said Resolution was referred to the Legal Department for the <br />preparation of the proper deed for execution by the Board, conveying <br />the property to the Park Department. <br />LETTER FROM ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT TO DEPARTMENT OF REDEVELOPMENT FILED <br />The City Engineer's office files with the Board a letter written to the <br />Department of Redevelopment, presenting a bill for engineering services <br />performed from August through December, 1971, in the amount of $4,615.00, <br />pursuant to an engineering contract between these departments which is <br />dated July 6, 197). <br />COMPLAINT OF P.T.A. GROUP - LACK OF SIDEWALKS <br />Mrs. Joseph C2iszar, 124 North Tuxedo Drive, South Bend, Indiana <br />safety Chairman of the South Bend Community Council of PTA, appeared <br />before the Board to read a prepared statement relative to the hazardous <br />condition that exists in the 600, 700 and 800 blocks of North Ironwood <br />Drive because of the lack of sidewalks. She said she represented <br />Parents from the entire community. Because the sidewalks are missing <br />in these three blocks the school children are forced to walk out in the <br />street on their way to and from school. North ironwood is a heavily <br />traveled area and it is extremely dangerous. She filed her statement <br />with the'Board, and asked that some action be taken to have these <br />sidewalks constructed. <br />Mr. George Herendeen, an Attorney, spoke on behalf of the parents, <br />and mentioned that he had had a son hit by a car. <br />Mrs. Robert Christian, 832 North .Ironwood said there is plenty of room <br />for the children to walk on the grass and she is against sidewalks. <br />Mrs. Clement Zebrowski, 722 North ironwood said no one had every told <br />the children not to walk on the grass_, and she too, is against the <br />construction of sidewalks. <br />Mrs. David Block, 733 North Ironwood, also spoke against the construction <br />of sidewalks. <br />Mrs. John Heisler, 725 North Ironwood, spoke for the request. <br />After much discussion, the Board referred the matter to the Legal <br />Department, and continued the matter for one week. <br />
