285 <br />5/1/72 <br />12 East South Street <br />Carl Weidler, representing the Estate of Gilbert Nash, appeared before <br />the Board to inform them the estate is waiting for an insurance Settle- <br />ment to be made. This should be within the next week or ten days. The <br />Board, upon motion made, seconded and carried, authorized Mr. Lizewski <br />to seek bids for the demolition of the structure at 312 East South <br />Street, as this will take two weeks and by that time the insurance <br />should have been settled. <br />510 East South Street <br />Gail E. Rush and Martha R. Weisman not having appeared to show cause <br />why the demolition of the structure at 510 East South Street should <br />not take place, the Board now, upon motion made, seconded and carried <br />instructs Mr. Liszewski to seek bids for the demolition of the <br />structure. <br />3124-fouth- St Joseph Street <br />TIN The demolition of this structure having been continued to this date, <br />the Board, Upon motion made, seconded and carried, authorized Mr. <br />2fJ Liszewski to seek bids for the demolition of the structure at 312 <br />�-+ South St. Joseph Street. <br />V <br />MODEL CITIES TOT -LOTS PROGRAM <br />Mr. Charles Lennon, Director, appeared before the Board to discuss <br />the transfer of certain city -owned land to the Park Department for <br />constructing a tot -lot. Mr. Lennon explained that this was to be a <br />Pilot Program to see whether or not it was feasible. <br />Mrs. Ethel Rupchock, 932 West LaSalle Street, South Bend, Indiana, <br />appeared before the Board relative to the use of the land as a tot - <br />lot. She did not remonstrate against it, but wished to know about <br />supervision, sanitary facilities, ages of children, etc. Mr. Lennon <br />asked her to meet with him later in the day and he would endeavor <br />to explain all about the program. <br />The matter of the transfer of land was continued for one week. <br />REQUEST FOR PARADE PERMIT - ST. JOSEPH COUNTY MEMORIAL DAY SOC. <br />Mr. H. C. Overgaard, Parade Marshall for the St. Joseph County <br />Memorial Day Society appeared before the Board with a letter re- <br />questing permission to hold a parade on May 29, 1972. This was <br />continued for one week, and the request was sent to the Traffice <br />Department for study. <br />MICHIANA WALK FOR DEVELOPMENT <br />A request was received from the Wichiana Walk for Development re- <br />questing permission to have a walk permit for Saturday, May 13, 1972. <br />A proposed route was enclosed. Upon motion made, seconded and <br />carried this was referred to the Engineering Department for study <br />and report. <br />SPECIAL POLICE COMMISSION MARIA VAN KIRK <br />Mrs. Maria Van Kirk appeared before the Board with reference to her <br />request for continuance of a special Police Commission. .After dis- <br />cussion this was continued for one week. <br />LETTER FROM SOUTH BEND SCREW PRODUCTS, INC. <br />A letter was receivedfrom South Bend Screw Products, inc., asking <br />about the aggbisition of a piece of land in the East Race. Thus <br />was referred to the Legal Department. <br />
