285 5/1/72 12 East South Street Carl Weidler, representing the Estate of Gilbert Nash, appeared before the Board to inform them the estate is waiting for an insurance Settle- ment to be made. This should be within the next week or ten days. The Board, upon motion made, seconded and carried, authorized Mr. Lizewski to seek bids for the demolition of the structure at 312 East South Street, as this will take two weeks and by that time the insurance should have been settled. 510 East South Street Gail E. Rush and Martha R. Weisman not having appeared to show cause why the demolition of the structure at 510 East South Street should not take place, the Board now, upon motion made, seconded and carried instructs Mr. Liszewski to seek bids for the demolition of the structure. 3124-fouth- St Joseph Street TIN The demolition of this structure having been continued to this date, the Board, Upon motion made, seconded and carried, authorized Mr. 2fJ Liszewski to seek bids for the demolition of the structure at 312 �-+ South St. Joseph Street. V MODEL CITIES TOT -LOTS PROGRAM Mr. Charles Lennon, Director, appeared before the Board to discuss the transfer of certain city -owned land to the Park Department for constructing a tot -lot. Mr. Lennon explained that this was to be a Pilot Program to see whether or not it was feasible. Mrs. Ethel Rupchock, 932 West LaSalle Street, South Bend, Indiana, appeared before the Board relative to the use of the land as a tot - lot. She did not remonstrate against it, but wished to know about supervision, sanitary facilities, ages of children, etc. Mr. Lennon asked her to meet with him later in the day and he would endeavor to explain all about the program. The matter of the transfer of land was continued for one week. REQUEST FOR PARADE PERMIT - ST. JOSEPH COUNTY MEMORIAL DAY SOC. Mr. H. C. Overgaard, Parade Marshall for the St. Joseph County Memorial Day Society appeared before the Board with a letter re- questing permission to hold a parade on May 29, 1972. This was continued for one week, and the request was sent to the Traffice Department for study. MICHIANA WALK FOR DEVELOPMENT A request was received from the Wichiana Walk for Development re- questing permission to have a walk permit for Saturday, May 13, 1972. A proposed route was enclosed. Upon motion made, seconded and carried this was referred to the Engineering Department for study and report. SPECIAL POLICE COMMISSION MARIA VAN KIRK Mrs. Maria Van Kirk appeared before the Board with reference to her request for continuance of a special Police Commission. .After dis- cussion this was continued for one week. LETTER FROM SOUTH BEND SCREW PRODUCTS, INC. A letter was receivedfrom South Bend Screw Products, inc., asking about the aggbisition of a piece of land in the East Race. Thus was referred to the Legal Department.
