=I <br />4/3/72 <br />COMPLAINT OF MRS. KENNETH MOLKUP <br />Mrs. Kenneth Moikup, 820 Whitehall Drive, appeared before the Board <br />to complain about raw sewage in the area around the McKinley Lagoon, <br />right in back of her louse. She said children in the area are at <br />play in that area and that raw sewage and toilet tissue seeps up <br />through the easement and It is dangerous. The'matter'was referred <br />to the Engineering Department for 4nvestigation, and to bring up <br />at the Wastewater meeting. <br />CIVIL DEFENSE SERVICE SQUAD <br />Mr. Don Germann, Civil Defense Director, appeared before the Board <br />to inform them a service squad manned by Civil Service personnel <br />was being put -into use immediately. <br />MORRIS CIVIC AUDITORIUMHEATING &'AIR CONDITIONING REHABILITATION <br />A letter was received from Mathews, Purucker & Associates,relative <br />*d4 to the heating and air conditioning rehabilitation of the Morris <br />T-4 Civic Auditorium, in which they asked permission to eleaminate <br />two rows of seats intthe two center sections of the third balcony, <br />in order to locate the hearing and cooling unit for this area In <br />an eaciosed room to reduce sound transfer into this area from the <br />new equipment. Upon motion made, seconded and carried the request <br />was granted. <br />TOPICS PROJECT MAIN STREET AND BRONSON - UTILITY AGREEMENTS <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board.approved ggreements <br />with the Indiana.Bell Telephone Company; Indiana & Michigan Electric <br />Company; Northern Indiana Public Service Company and South Bend <br />Water Works for changes to be made in utilities in the Bronson <br />and Michigan Street intersection in the TOPICS PROJECT. <br />STATEMENT FQR PROVIDING GENERAL SUPERVISION OF THE CONSTRUCTION AT <br />THE WASTEWATER PLANT: <br />A statement referred to ?the Engineering Department from the Clyde <br />E. Williams & Associates, Inc., company for general supervision of <br />the construction on the Wastewater Treatment Plant 'Improvement in <br />the amount of $3,742.78 was approved, upon motion made, seconded, <br />and carried. <br />LETTER TO INDIANA BELL TELPHONE COMPANY - RE: DAMAGE TO UNDERGROUND CABLE <br />The following letter was presented to the Board: <br />March 28, 1972 <br />Mr. Richard 0. Creedon <br />Indiana Bell Teoephone Company, Inc. <br />240 N. Meeidian <br />Indianapolis, Indiana 46204 <br />Subject: Claim for $370.54 against South ..Bend Water Works by <br />Indiana Bell Telephone Company, Inc. <br />Dear Mr. Creedon: <br />1 have been instructed by the Board of Public -Works and Safety to <br />reply to your notice concerning the damage done to an undergound <br />cable and conduit in the vicinity of Lake Street and Western Avenue, <br />In>the City of South Bend. We would like to officially notify you <br />that we deny the claim as presented by the Bell Telephone Company. <br />
