243 <br />3/20/72 <br />Midwest Demolition Co. $623.00 <br />B b J Demolition Co. 600.00 <br />Machinery Supply Co. 535.99. <br />O'Neal Trucking Co. 574.00 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the bid was awarded to <br />Machinery Supply Company on'its low bid of $535.99. <br />Mr. Jerry Davis of Machinery Supply Company; appeared before the <br />Board and he was directed to complete the cleaning up of the <br />demolition of the demolition of the building on Western Avenue and <br />the Bissell Street property immediately. <br />ST JOSEPH COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT - REQUEST FOR PARKING <br />The following letter was received by the Board: <br />March 11, 1972 <br />The Honorable Board of Public Works <br />e� City of South Bend <br />e—I County -City Building <br />South Bend, Indiana 46601 <br />C.) Gent Imen: <br />U <br />As you know, we at the County Police Department have a serious <br />parking problem around our complex and it has been multiplied with <br />our taking over of the City Police booking duties. Our cars and <br />those of the public must continuously encroach upon the metered <br />area along our Main Street fron side. <br />i take this opportunity to petition your Board for the removal <br />of two meters and designating an area as being "parking for Police <br />Business only," or some such appellation: The area I refer to <br />would be that which extends north from our Main Street ramp entrance <br />to the first fire plug, about seventy-five feet (or less) of <br />usable space. <br />Thank you for any possible action in this direction. <br />Sincerely, <br />s/s Dean Bolerjack, Sheriff <br />OB/d <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried the matter -was <br />referred to the Engineering Department for investigation and report. <br />BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA - REQUEST TO HANG BANNER <br />The following letter was presented to the Board: <br />March 14, 1972 <br />Clerk of Public Works Department <br />City Hall <br />South Bend, In 46601 <br />Dear Sir: <br />The new Northern Indiana Council, Boy Scouts of America will hold <br />a Scout-O-Rama Sbout Show, at the Athletic and Convocation Center, <br />Notee Dame University on Sunday April 16. We would like to adver- <br />tise this event with a street banner suspended over Michigan Street <br />at some appropriate place. We have check with our Insurance <br />company and are covered for any liability w5htch oouid occur through <br />the use of such a banner.
