17 1/10/72 2112 Roger Street. The Planning and Development Action Team, Inc., 136 S. Chapin Street, by John Torti, Director, now presents a check for $25.00 to be held until such time as purchase and rehabilitation is completed, in which case the check will go to the Machinery Supply Company, Inc., on its low bid to demolish said structure. In the event purchase is not completed, the check will be returned to the Planning and Development Action Team, Inc., and the bid will be awarded to the Machinery Supply Company to demolish the structure at 2112 Roger Street. The Sub -Standards Division will keep the building under surveillance. Demolition bids opened: This being the date set, bids for demolishing the following property were opened. Non collusion affidavits were found to be in proper order. 517 East Wenger Street. Machinery Supply Co., Inc. $495.00 O'Neal Trucking'Company 498.00 Vanek Excavation Company 465.00 Waimco 467.00 The Board decided it would be in the best interest of the City of South Bend to award the bid to Waimco. Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried the bid for the demolition of the structure at 517 East Wenger Street was awarded to Waimco on its bid of $467.00 BIDS AWARDED FOR CITY VEHICLES 1972 The Engineer presented recommendations on bids previously received as follows: Group 1 4 dr. Sedans 30 units Don Medow American, Inc. $51,112.00 Group 11 4 dr. Station Wagons 3 units Don Medow American, Inc. 6,753.00 Group 111 4 dr. Sedans 11 units Freeman -Spicer 19,575.00 Group V 4 dr. Station Wagon Don Medow American, Inc. 2,698.00 Group V1 4 dr. Station Wagon 1 unit Don Medow American,inc. 2,578.00 Group 1X 4 dr. Sedan 3 units Freeman -Spicer 6,860.00 Groups Vil and Vill for Department of Redevelopment and Building Department respectively, were not awarded at this time. Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried the above recommendations were approved and bids were awarded to Don Medow American for 30 4 door Sedans for the Police Department; 3 4 door Station Wagons for the Police Department; 1 4 door Station Wagon for the Engineering Department;] 4 door Station Wagon for the Board of Works at the prices quoted and to Freeman -Spicer for ll 4 door Sedans for the Police Department and 3 4 door Sedans for the Fire Depart- ment at the prices quoted. Bids for Janitor Service for Municipal Services Facility - The Clerk was given permission to advertise for bids for janitorial service for the Municipal Services Building, 703 West Sample Street. The Clerk was directed to give notice by publication in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri County News on January 14 and January 21, for bids to be received on January 24, 1972. A.C.T.I.O.N., Inc. IN -KIND VOUCHERS In -kind vouchers for rent for January, 1972 for Fire Station #5 in the amount of $283.34, Fire Station #7 in the amount of $283.58 and Fire Station #8 in the amount of $283.58 by A.C.T.I.O.N., Inc., were ordered filed. WEIGHTS AND MEASURES DEPARTMENT Mr. Bert S. Cichowicz, City Sealer, appeared before the Board, introduced himself and invited the Board to visit his office some time. He then presented a request asking that he be allowed to attend the 16th annual Weights and Measures Technical Training School in Indianapolis on January 19,20 and 21, 1972.
