173 <br />1/10/72 <br />It is therefsre, respectfully requested that approval be granted by the <br />Board of Public Works and Safety to confer upon Father Lallak, as Police <br />Department Chaplain, the honorary rank of Captain and to direct that he <br />be allowed to wear the proper insignia of said rank and be rendered all <br />courtesy and respect normally observed within a Para -military organization. <br />Consideration by the Board of Public Works and Safety of this request will <br />be most sincerely appreciated. <br />Respecfully, <br />(s) Robert W. Seals, Chief of Police <br />RWS/mm <br />Upon motion made, seconded, and unanimously carried Father Lallak was <br />given the rank of Honorary Captain of the South Bend Police Department. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT - ANNUAL REPORT <br />The annual report for the year 1971 of the South Bend Building Department <br />was filed with the Board. <br />"Im BUILDING DEPARTMENT - SUB -STANDARDS DIVISION <br />e—) <br />in Mr. Richard Liszewski, Sub -Standards Director, appeared before the Board and <br />the following matters were discussed <br />Request for sub -standard property owners to appear 1/24/72 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the request of <br />the Sub -Standards Director for the following persons to appear before the <br />Board January 24, 1972 in reference to the sub -standard condition of the <br />following properties: <br />827 South Rush Street <br />- Gail E. <br />Rush, <br />Adm. & Martha R. Wiseman <br />133-135 South Laurel St. <br />- Theodore <br />C. & <br />Ruth E. Schultz <br />1504 Swygart St. <br />- Michael <br />Karan <br />& Harold C. Personette <br />1525 S. Catalpa St. <br />- Charles <br />W. Hahn, Trustee <br />516 West Indiana <br />- Karl W. <br />Dubai] <br />& Mary Dubai] Bande <br />717 S. Clinton St. <br />- Bert M. <br />& Ida <br />B. Dudley <br />And the Clerk is directed to so notify said persons by certified mail. <br />736 North Francis Street. <br />This matter having been continued to this date, Mr,-.Liszewski now asks <br />for permission to advertise for bids to demolish this structure. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the request to <br />advertise for bids to demolish the structure at 736 North Francis Street. <br />1813 Robinson Street. <br />Mr. Liszewski asked that this be continued for two weeks. Upon motion made, <br />seconded and carried, the matter of the sub -standard condition of the property <br />at 1813 Robinson Street was continued for two weeks. <br />730 North Scott Street. <br />Mr. Liszewski informed the Board that a small building at this address had <br />been torn down and he now withdraws his petition to demolish. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried -the Board -approved his request. <br />1613 South Carroll Street. <br />This matter having been continued to this date, Mr. Liszewski now asks <br />for permission to advertise for bids to demolish this structure. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried the Board approved the request to <br />advertise for bids to demolish the structure at 1613 South Carroll Street. <br />
