<br />3306 S. Fellows Street. Mr. Liszewski reported the owners of the property
<br />at 3306 S. Fellows Street will demolish the property themselves.
<br />HEARING ON ASSESSMENT ROLL - IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 3343 1971 -
<br />E. FARNEMAN STREET SEWER
<br />This being the date set for hearing on the assessment roll in Improvement
<br />Resolution No. 3343, 1971, for the improvement of E. Farneman Street,
<br />from 200 feet east of Fellows Street, east to the dead end, by constructing
<br />a sanitary sewer, proofs of publication in the South Bend Tribune and the
<br />Tri County News on December 3 and December 10, 1971, were tendered and found
<br />to be sufficient.
<br />Appearing before the Board were Elmer Schulz, 604 E. Farneman Street,
<br />Leo Sobierajski, 626 Donmoyer Street, Mrs. Maude Snyder, 627 E. Farneman
<br />and John Zivkovich, 603 E. Farneman Street, South Bend, Indiana. Mr.
<br />Schulz questioned the amount of his assessment. Mr. Zivkovich complained
<br />of the location of the sewer connection. Mr. Sobierajski questioned the
<br />footage used for assessment on his lot.
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the hearing on the
<br />assessment roll was continued one week.
<br />LANDFILL LEASE - SOUTH BEND SAND AND GRAVEL COMPANY, INC.
<br />Mr. Crumpacker moved that written notice be served upon the South Bend Sand
<br />and Gravel Company, Inc., that the City of South Bend, effective October 1,
<br />1972, is terminating the lease dated September 22, 1967, between the South
<br />Bend Sand and Gravel Company, Inc., and the City of South Bend covering the
<br />southernmost of the two parcels of land leased by the City for landfill
<br />purposes; and further moved that the addendum to said lease submitted to
<br />the Board on December.:6, 1971, be continued indefinitely. The motion was
<br />seconded and unanimously carried.
<br />RESOLUTION NO. 12-13-71 ADOPTED FOR SALE OF SALT SPREADERS
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the following resolution
<br />was adopted:
<br />"RESOLUTION NO. 12-13-71
<br />A RESOLUTION TO ENABLE THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND TO SELL
<br />FIVE SALT SPREADERS TO THE SOUTH BEND COMMUNITY SCHOOL
<br />CORPORATION.
<br />"WHEREAS, the South Bend Street Department of the Civil
<br />City of South Bend, Indiana, is the owner of five salt spreaders
<br />manufactured by the Highway Equipment Company, Cedar Rapids,
<br />Iowa, to -wit:

<br />"WHEREAS, the Street Department no longer needs said property

<br />executive authority for the City of South Bend, Indiana, and
<br />"WHEREAS, the South Bend Community School Corporation is
<br />desirous to purchase said salt spreaders,
<br />"1NOW$ THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC
<br />WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CIVIL CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA:
<br />"Section I. That the aforementioned salt spreaders be
<br />sold to the South Bend Community School Corporation for the
<br />consideration of Ten Dollars ($10.00) per unit.
