<br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS &SAFETY - REQUEST FOR TRANSFER OF FUNDS
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and. unanimously carried, the Board approved the
<br />transfer of an additional sum in the amount of $7,000.00 to the Board of
<br />Public Works and Safety Account H-214 (telephone and telegraph), and the
<br />request was referred to the Legal Department for the preparation,of an
<br />ordinance for the consideration of the Common Council.
<br />IN KIND VOUCHERS - A.C.T.I.O.N., INC.
<br />In kind rent vouchers of A.C.T.I.O.N., Inc., for the month of August, 1971,
<br />for Fire Station #5 in the amount of $283.34, for Fire Station #7 in the
<br />amount of $283.58 and for Fire Station #8 in the amount of $283.58 were
<br />ordered filed.
<br />BUS ZONE EXTENDED - 100 BLOCK W. WASHINGTON AVENUE
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved the
<br />re,,oval of parking meters numbered 1, 3, 5 and 7 in the 100 block of W.
<br />Washington Street for the extension offthe bus zone in front of the American
<br />National Bank Building;
<br />BUS ZONE RELOCATED - 100 BLOCK S. MAIN STREET
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Boardapproved the
<br />relocation of the bus'zone in the 100 block of S. Main Street to the space
<br />in front. of the First Bank Building at 133 S. Main Street, and the
<br />installation of seven parking meters at'the former location.
<br />REMOVAL OF PARKING METERS 100 BLOCK S. MAIN STREET - DENIED
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board denied the request
<br />for removal of parking meters numbered 5 and 7 in the 100 block of S. Main
<br />Street for°the use of the St. Joseph County Sheriff's Department, it being the
<br />consensus of the Board that free space should not be provided at the sacrifice
<br />of meter space.
<br />PETITION TO VACATE ALLEYS - GATES CHEVROLET COMPANY
<br />Attorney William F. Mclnerny, 316 First Bank Building, South Bend, Indiana,
<br />files with the Board the petition of Gates Realty, Inc, and Gates Chevrolet
<br />Corporation, 333 W. Western Avenue, South Bend, Indiana for the vacation of:
<br />the north -south alley between Williams Street and Franklin
<br />Street, running from Western Avenue north to Wayne Street;
<br />and a questionable east -west alley between Western Avenue and
<br />Wayne Street, running from Williams Street east to Franklin
<br />Street.
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the petition was referred to the Engineer-
<br />ing Department and the'Area Plan Commission simultaneously for study and
<br />recommendation to the Board. Seventy Five Dollars was deposited for costs.

<br />IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 3330, 1970 - ALLEYS BETWEEN HUEY AND O'BRIEN STREETS
<br />For the improvement of the alleys between Huey and O'Brien Streets, from
<br />Humboldt to Elwood Street1byv.constructing a Class C, Type I pavement.
<br />Clyde E. Williams and -Associates, Inc., consulting engineers, files with the
<br />Board its certificate of -,.of completion of said improvement by McIntyre and
<br />Jones Construction Company, Inc., under Improvement Resolution No. 3330, 1970,
<br />in accordance with the plans and specifications for said project.
<br />And the City Engineer files assessment roll, with the names of the owners and
<br />description of the properties subject to be assessed, with the amount of the
<br />prima facie assessment.
