9/7/71 <br />77 <br />September 20, 1971, at 9:30 A.M., in Room 1308 County City Building, South <br />Bend, Indiana, is set as the time and place for receiving remonstrances <br />against the amounts on said assessment roll, and at which time the Board <br />will determine whether such lots or tracts of land have been or will be <br />benefited by said improvement to the amounts named. And the Clerk is <br />directed to give notice of such hearing by publication in the South Bend <br />Tribune and the Tri County News on September 10 and September 17, 1971. <br />TOPICS PROGRAM - MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT <br />Maintenance Agreement under the TOPICS (Traffic Operations Program for <br />increasing capacity and safety) program between the Indiana State Highway <br />Commission�ae�e Board of public Works and Safety under date of August 5, <br />1971, being now completed and returned by the Indiana State Highway <br />Commission, was ordered filed. <br />TOPICS AGREEMENT - INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENT LINCOLNWAY WEST AND WILLIAMS STREET <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board <br />approved <br />and <br />signed an agreement with the Indiana State Highway Commission <br />providing <br />for <br />1144 <br />the use of TOPICS funds in the amount of $15,050.00 for the improvement <br />of <br />r__q <br />the intersection at Lincolnway West and Williams Street. <br />TOPICS AGREEMENT - INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENT - IRONWOOD DRIVE <br />AND <br />ROCKNE <br />.CORBY <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board <br />approved <br />and <br />signed an agreement with the Indiana State Highway Commission <br />providing <br />for <br />the use of TOPICS funds in the amount of $58,500.00 for the improvement <br />of <br />the intersection at Ironwood Drive, Corby and Rockne Streets. <br />COMPLAINTS VS. TAXICAB DRIVERS <br />1 <br />Walter M. Szymkowiak, 2nd District Councilman, Chairman of the Transportation <br />Committee of the South Bend Common Councilahaving requested an investigation <br />regarding the violation of City Ordinances by taxicab drivers, it was moved, <br />seconded and carried that the matter be referred to the City Controller <br />for review and recommendation. <br />STREET LIGHT REQUEST - 900 BLOCK GOLDEN AVENUE <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried the request of John W. Fissgus, 914 <br />Golden Avenue and 15 others for a street light in the 900 block of Golden <br />Avenue was referred to the Traffic Engineering Department for study and <br />recommendation. <br />COMMUNICATION FROM LEN AND DEE PAJULA AND OTHERS RE: "HAIR" <br />A communication signed by Len and Dee Pajula, 326 W.
