z 8/23/71 CHANGE ORDERS APPROVED - IRELAND ROAD IMPROVEMENT For the improvement of Ireland Road, from Michigan Street to Miami Street, by constructing a three'inch overlay of the existing pavement and 12 inch full depth asphalt widening. Upon motion made,'seconded and carried, Change Order No. 1 Revised (replacing Change Order No. 1), to provide for a right turn at the inter- section of Michigan and Ireland Road at an estimated cost of $2,735.25, was approved. Upon motion further made, seconded and carried, Change Order No. 2 to pro- vide,for'the extension of the improvement south on Miami Road a distance of approximately 600 feet with curbs on both sides at an estimated cost of $15,924.00, was approved. DEPARTMENT OF REDEVELOPMENT - CONTRACT FOR INSPECTION SERVICE AMENDED Upon motion made, seconded and carried, contract executed July 6, 1971, 414 for professional `and technical services by the City Engineer to the De- partment of Redevelopment in connection with the Central Down Town Projtect Indiana R-66 was amended to include the following; V "g. Consult and advise with the Local Public Agency, act as the Local Public Agency's representative at the project site, issue all instructions of the Local Public Agency to the Contractor. "h. Conduct, in company with the Local Public Agency, a final inspection of the project for conformance with the design concept of the project and compliance with the information given by the contract documents and approve in writing final payment to the contractors." SOUTH BEND ENGINEERING STANDARDS - AMENDED Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the amendment of "South Bend Engineering Standards", prepared by the City Engineering Depart- ment and adopted by the Board of Public Works and Safety on April 26, 1971, as follows; Replace page 1 (standard specifications) Replace "contents" page Add page 3-a which is Amendment Delete Plate 13 Replace Plate 17 (Rev7sion) Replace Plate 21 (Revision) Replace Plate 22 (Revision) Replace Plate 23 (Revision) Delete Plate 24 Replace Plate 25 (Revision) Replace Plate 34 (Revision) No. 1(Fair-Employment Practices) STORM SEWER COMPLETED - VINE STREET, 31ST TO 36TH STREETS Clyde E. Williams and Associates, Inc., consulting engineers, file with the Board their certificate of completion by Rieth Riley Construction Company, Inc., of the storm sewer improvement on Vine Street, from 31st Street to 36th Street. REQUEST TO CLOSE CREST AVENUE FOR BLOCK PARTY - JOHN D. STECHCON Action by the Board on the request of John D. Stechcon, 2426 Crest Avenue South Bend, Indiana, for permission to block Crest Avenue for a block party on September 5, 1971, was deferred for further information.
